One of the nice things about the HP8657 is it's electronic RF output attenuator. The HP8656B uses relays in it's RF output attenuator. The relays have a short lifetime and can't be cleaned or repaired. For this reason alone, I prefer the HP8657 over the HP8656.Read full review
