Works great! Very quiet!
Love this Danby 70 pint (??? That would be 8.75 gallons-actually holds about 2 gallons, but that's plenty!) QUIET dehumidifier! Live in a very humid area and run 2 large air conditioners most days. Still get about 4-6 GALLONS of water out of the air DAILY with this unit! Only real complaint is that the side panels are slightly buckled so doesn't look as nice as I was expecting. (I purchased a display unit.)Read full review

Not for me
I use it in my basement. I need it to be on and available all the time. All of my previous units come ON and OFF as needed. With this unit the fan runs constantly and bugs me to no end. I called, no way to turn it off. That's the way they work. I can hear it in the bedroom at night. Wasted electric, more clogging of the air filter. Nice is you want to circulate the air, but I had NO problem with the older models that I have had. My old one didn't hardly run at all in the winter. No smell and nice dry basement. And no matter what they tell you about the filter systems on the units, fine particles will get through over time and decrease the efficiency. I disassembled my older unit of about 7 years and found the coils mostly clogged with no way of cleaning them unless you had dissembled the unit, and I keep the filter clean. Not a good design but it would have been much worse the fan ran all the time.Read full review

Quiet, effective, great price, great features.
I Love the display, shows the temp and current humidity level in the air passing through it. It is a 70 pint for the cost of most 50 pint dehumidifiers. The bucket is as little odd and unstable when you take it out, and smaller than I thought it would be, but it works.Read full review

Danbury Premier Dehumidifier
When received would not power up. Tried 10 times, nothing. I left it plugged in and during night, it turned on by itself. So far has kept working without a problem when I turn it on and off. It has been running for 3 days without issues. The writing on the buttons are basically worn off so you can’t tell what each button is for. But I keep the page from manual showing them taped to the side. Although not whisper quiet, It is not as loud as my other dehumidifier I have ,which is a big plus for me. Can’t watch TV with my other one running. The manual is very lacking on instructions when you have a problem. But price was good, it is working well so far. If it keeps working properly without any further issues, I will be pleased with purchase. Overall a good machine I believe. Update, been 2 weeks, still working well with no issues.Read full review

Quality of Life Product
Danby dehumidifiers get the job done on a tropical island, run 24/7, and discharge water with supplied hose onto grape vines. The A/C contractor recommended these as the more cost effective than running the central A/C unit for dehumidifying. Experiencing about a five year life span with Danbys running 24/7.Read full review

Danby dehumidifier 70 pint
I have only had this machine for a short period of time so far, but it seems to be performing very well for me.
It is quiet, and effective.
I bought it to replace an Ivation 45 unit that burned out in just 9 months time, and
NO ONE will take responsibility for it even though it has a 12 month warranty. JBRoth Co. sold it to me through
Ebay, but they ignore my requests for a settlement, refund or replacement. And Ivation is in Japan, and I cannot
do much about them either. I am highly peeved at Roth.Read full review

Second Danby
I had a Danby 45 for about 4 years in my basement. I was pleased with it's performance until it quit taking the moisture out of the air. I had several other brands before. Some of them manufactured by what are listed as top brands on the review sites. The most disappointing was the Frigidaire. Most of them lasted a year or two in that basement. So Danby was a more economical solution. I really don't want to spend $200 every year on a unit. Decided to go with the larger unit the 75 this time to try and get the 5 to 15 years some sites say a unit should last. Bigger unit less strain maybe.
So far, it is doing it's job. We have been having some very high humidity days for November, even for the south. Yesterday and today humidity was around 93%. Humidity in the basement even with me going in and out the outside door has been around 45% according to the Danby measure on the machine. And around 50% according to a humidistat mounted near the ceiling.
Will try and remember to come back in a year or two and give you an update.Read full review

Works, but is not automatic on/off
The fan blows 100% of the time, which is not what I wanted. The compressor comes on and the dehumidifier works when it does. But just the constant fan, without it shutting off by itself forces me to have to monitor the relative humidity percentage and push the on/off button to either run it or not, depending on my desired humidity. That should have been made to tie in with the compressor's on/off logic.Read full review

Dehumidifier Review
Pleased with purchase. I am using my dehumidifier in a detached garage that especially in the warmer months can become humid. This unit so far is working efficiently in maintaining a dry work space. In addition to removing moisture, it also provides some heat to keep the garage fairly warm.

Works great!!!
Bought a 2nd unit for my basement which get very humid. On low speed, I hardly notice they are running. Pulls moisture from the air very well. I use the built in pump on both...no emptying bucket. Would buy again.Read full review
