Lightweight, powerful vacuum
This is my second certified refurbished Dyson Ball Animal Pro Upright Vacuum. Works just as wonderfully as the last one. Great suction power which makes cleaning fast and efficient! The only con would be one of the two additional accessories I received with the vacuum. I am familiar with the tangle-free turbine tool, but I also received a wand-type tool that doesn't seem to attach to the hose. Perhaps needs an adapter? I did not see this accessory on the Dyson site, so I am not sure how the accessory works. I am guessing that it is some sort of dusting device. The vacuum works fine, but it was not the one I ordered. I received a cheaper model. I'm not happy about that.
The product itself is just fine. However, when I purchased this vacuum I ordered the one shown along with this review. I ordered the Purple one. I received a silver or gunshot grey one. I'm not sure which they call it. But it wasn't the Purple one. I decided to keep it anyway because it would be a bit difficult to send it all back. I'm sure that's what Dyson expected also. It harms my feelings about Dyson. I've used another of theirs for about 8 years and was proud of it. When that one broke down I ordered this one. Yes, it works fine, but it is not what I ordered. This one is less expensive that the Purple one, so I didn't get as good of a good deal as I was expecting. This thing is a BEAST
I've been an Oreck user for years and was looking for something in the same class. Boy was I wrong -- the Dyson far exceeds the Oreck by any measure. Easy to use, super powerful and more accessories than I care to know how to use.
Only cons on this are some parts feel very cheap plastic-y, namely the cord wrap point. And conflicting information on the posting (is it a 2-year warranty, 5-year or whatever the short notice was on a piece of paper in the box -- this one I still have to sort out. If 2+ plus years, at the refurbished sale price this was a no brainer.

Like new! 1/4th the price!
This is my second Dyson, my first being a DC65 Animal Complete. This vacuum is the same model, they just dropped the DCxx name nomenclature.
The brush head is different, though, and not in a good way. It’s not as easy to swivel and maneuver as my old one. Luckily Dyson vacuums are modular! I just took the brush head off my old broken vacuum, cleaned it up with a bleach bath (after removing the electric motor components), and hooked it up to my new one!
I still can’t believe it was only $140 bucks. I paid over $500 for my DC65 back in 2013. Times are hard these days and I’m so grateful I found this refurbished one.
I think I nabbed one of the last ones, because just a couple of days after I purchased mine they were sold out. I also recommended it to my Facebook friends, so a few of them probably got one too.
OH! Another thing… the vacuum I received was basically brand new, but it wasn’t quite the same as the one in the photo. Mine has a silver head instead of purple. It’s just cosmetic, though. Still love it. Read full review...

Long time Dyson fan absolutely hates this vacuum
OK, I bought my first Dyson Animal Upright back in 2003 or 2004 and I absolutely loved that vacuum. I have always had black and yellow labs and that vacuum was awesome. Everything on it just worked. I have written a few positive reviews in various places and had bragged to Dyson themselves about that vacuum. Everything just worked and I had that vacuum until 2019 when I finally wore down the tip on the nozzle so far that it literally would not hold an attachment anymore.
It only made sense to replace something so awesome with the next generation, right? The Dyson Ball Animal replaced the old pre-ball Animal that I loves so much so I bought one. I have used it for almost three years now and I have tried with all my power to get used to and like that vacuum, and I absolutely hate it, and my wife absolutely hates it. It is nearly impossible to use the wand. It sucks so hard that it constantly pulls the vacuum to close to you and bends the hose to where there is no suction. The wand is a constant fight to get back in the holder, the cord forever gets wrapped around the two little back wheels, and stuff that gets stuck in the smaller hose is near impossible to get out of it.
I am floored that Dyson went from this awesome machine to something that almost nothing works as it should on. It is almost like they tried to ruin everything that made them so great. I could see if I didn’t agree with a design change or two, but this thing is literally unusable and I hate it.
Everything is far harder than the original. I am sad that I have to go find another vacuum now. After my original Dyson Animal, I never thought I would own another brand. I am frustrated that I have to research vacuums to find one that works. I thought I was done with that.Read full review...

We had just previously purchased a Shark Vacuum brand new top of the line. Upon recieving the
Dyson Ball Animal Pro Upright we went ahead and vacuumed the living room where we previously (and hour before that) had vacuumed before with the Shark Vacuum. The amount of dirt and pet hair that the Dyson pulled up from the carpet was unbelievable I was really in shock.
