Great tablet

Motorola Xoom is one of the best tablets available on the market, featuring great performance, an efficient user interface and a good multimedia experience. However, the software is still a bit unstable, I had a few applications crash with error messages, the Facebook app for instance (which is buggy on Froyo as well) – but this could be the responsibility of the app developer, not Android or the device manufacturer. Hopefully things will get better with the next update.

Personally, I prefer the iPad 2 for the design, the better user experience (with the exception of the disappointing camera) and the lower price. But others may prefer the Xoom for its customization capabilities, the ability to access Flash content in the browser, voice input for search and typing, the superior quality of the camera (software and hardware)& the higher screen resolution.

Amazing UI/Build Qaulity

This tablet does everything I need it to. Video chatting across platforms, not being limited to Mac OS/iOS users. Honeycomb Android 3.0 looks absolutely stunning and runs extremely smooth with the Dual Core Tegra 2 Processor. Games and multitasking are smooth and look beautiful as well. The Android Market has a limited amount of tablet applications but the Xoom is the first and only Honeycomb tablet out right now, so it's partially justifiable. Battery life is great, the HD display is crystal clear, the front and rear camera's are decent so don't expect them to replace your current point and shoot camera. Video chatting is seamless on Google Talk and the widgets are very useful and smooth as well. Overall a 8/10 in my opinion. Price is a little high as well so a - for price and a - for the lack of applications.Read full review...

A tablet for entertainment, worse the money you pay, need to test it first.

This item was overall working good except for the card reader slot, tried from 4,8,16 and 32 GB SD card and no one was read, both cameras were working in a properly way, made a video demo and was good, I had to connect the table to transfer a movie to see how the video was working, well, didn't have video application I have had installed one in order to test it, pixels are good, good video, Bluetooth was connected good, but couldn't make it work with the video sound or listen music tru them, battery is good, almost 10 hours, couldn't connect my At&t Sim card to test the phone version. connect to internet very easy and quick.Read full review...

Wait!

Well, I should have listened to all the reviews. I received the upgrade to Android 3.1 the day I turned my XOOM on. Overall, a very nice toy. Yes, it's just a toy. I was really hoping to be able to use the USB connection to add the extra needed storage and, just like all the other reviews state - it just plain does not work. Many games, not only are not in the 10.1 format and have poor resolution, many, only give you a screen size of a cell phone. I do enjoy Angry Birds though. My daughter has the iPad 2, and I must say, the picture quality of the XOOM is much better - BUT, she gets Netflix and I don't. Google really needs to get the Android OS up to par with Apple.Read full review...

Very fast excellent touch response USB access it great add :)

I've had this Xoom for about a week and I've very happy with it, but for a few minor things. It looked like in the promo's on video I have seen, that it worked with Skype video calls. It does do voice chat but no video. It offers something called IGoogle chat for video chat. Learning this was very disappointing to me. Still I am pleased with the overall operation of this unit. It still has glitches with some of the apps such as FaceBook, to me just going to FB on the browser does a better job than the fb app. These are minor complaints this table is fast and works very well, battery lasts about 10 hours which seems to spin by fast because your having so much fun on it. Even Ipad had glitches too such as no flash support, thats why I recommend the Xoom over the Ipad. I'm sure at some point fully functioning Skype (with video support) will become available soon, at least I hope so.Read full review...

Excellent choice except for volume button placement.

Very nice specs and I like the tablet size. I notice it is not as lightening fast as it first was now with a lot of apps. The only real negative is the volume bars. Almost impossible to increase or decrease without turning on its side to actually see the buttons. Why they are so tiny and in a recess where you can't feel them without looking is beyond me. Synched with my Android phone flawlessly. I would buy it again hands down. A bit heavier than my Sony Reader but I find the backlighting comfortable as long as you don't keep the background hospital white. I use the Nook app.... excellent. Wish there were more publications on the apps but right now there are not many of them, but I am happy with what is there and there are more every week. No knocks to the ipad but I am an IT guy and the specs speak!Read full review...

Best Bang For Your Buck! Amazing Tablet. I LOVE IT

I have owned an Ipad 1 & 2. I figured I would try this tablet because my phone is an android. Plus I didnt have much to lose & I LOVE my phone. So I haved used this thing for about a week now. I do not have any many cons about this product but tons of pros. PROS - Very very good battery life. Awsome Camera's (for a tablet). Amazing sound system. Picks up wifi pretty well. Super thin & light. Screen is the P E R F E C T size. Very easy to work (without reading manual). Love how you can get blockbuster or netflix. I am in love with the F R E E apps :). Anyway that you turn the tablet it picks up fast and will rotate the screen within 1-3 seconds. Tablet & Internet has lighting fast speed. Works really good on skype or oovoo. As you can see I can go on & on all day long lol. # 1 CON - It will get a little hot if you use it for hours & hours & if you have it on the charger & use it for hours. Other then that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing. Android has done it again. I will be a lifetime costumer. Im Very Satisfied!Read full review...

Simply the best Tablet available

I purchased the Xoom recently and as the owner of 3 tablets, I have to say that this is by far the best tablet you can buy (yes and that includes the IPAD 2).
I currently own the IPAD 2, the Xoom and the Archos 101.
While the Ipad 2 is very nice and has a great overall finish and feel to it, it simply cannot stand up against the performance and features of the Xoom.
The one thing the Ipad 2 does have that the Xoom doesnt is a plethora of specific Apps made just for tablets. Since purchasing the Xoom I have installed about 50 apps from the Android market and all but 1 works perfectly so its not all bad. Once the developers start making more honeycomb specific apps, it will really be no contest at all.

- Screen - 10 - The resolution and screen are absolutely beautilful
- Apps - 8 - While most apps work perfectly on the Xoom, the android market is made up of mostly phone apps.
- Sound - 9 - The sound is really great...Could be a tad louder.
- Features - 10 - Not even the Mighty Ipad 2 can stand up to the features here. The cameras are better, the os takes advantage of the great hardware, items like live wallpapers and dynamic widgets just blow you away as you get to use these features.

As you can tell, I really like this device. Ive read some other reviews and people were saying their devices were crashing and didnt hardly have apps that worked, im not sure if its because I purchased mine after the update or what, but mine works absolutely perfect. Even some of the apple fan boys at work are purchasing the Xoom after they got to see what mine could do.
I highly recommend this device.

I love this tablet!

I love the Xoom and honeycomb!
The only thing i don't like is the screen, it's to glossy (in sunlight it's like a mirror) inside it looks good and the sensitivity on the screen is great.

Android Honeycomb is a great OS, and it makes the xoom fast and reliable.
honeycomb is still a "work in progress" but in time I'm sure it will be better than anything out there.
I'm hoping for more apps on marked soon, right now there are not that many apps designed for tablets (Compared to Ipad)

Honeycomb is easy to use, and you can customize your homescreen the way you like.

I think it's better than an ipad or anything else, but this is because I don't like the way ipad force you to use itunes and you cant install 3rd party software on the ipad unless you jailbreak it.

The Best Tablet Out There!!

Very intuitive tablet! The email setups for IMAP and POP servers were a breeze. Very fast processor and outstanding display. The back and front cameras are sharp as well. I read some reviews that placed the XOOM below the iPad2 in terms of performance. I am not sure what they saw in the iPad2 that was comparable but I did not. Granted the iPad2 has more apps available to tis users than the XOOM does. Hoewever, the XOOM has more ports than the iPad2 and it is better built. I can connect the XOOM to any HDMI supported display. I am glad I decided on the XOOM. It is, in my opinion, more than a toy if you load it up with the productive apps out there. It is a matter of time before the android market catches up with Apple store. By the way, I also use the iPad2, just in case you suspect some negative sentiments towards iPad2.Read full review...
