VW Beetle door panel inserts

Vinyl is another word for synthetic leather. I could not get these to glue down flat on the door panel. I finally gave up. They look great but didn't work for me.

Results good if...

If you are willing to spend the time and effort installing these, be warned. The covers are good.. even excellent.. but-
The design of the door card makes this task a real bear. It is not meant to be removed and reinstalled. If the plastic is broken, you may have to find other means to reinstall the card.
My doors were in bad shape. Unfortunately, they had been "repaired" by the p.o. meaning "now they are really messed up." I was able to take it apart, clean it up, install the covers and pop rivet it together with a minimum amount of swearing. It looks sharp- and way cheaper than the $500+ for new panels...
Bottom line, happy wife, happy life. I'm a hero. Get long aluminum rivets and backing washers just in case...Read full review...

Definitely worth it, if you're up for the job.

These door panel covers are made better than the originals. They were difficult to apply just because the VW backing panel was so cheaply made that it falls apart when trying to recover them. Had to make make-shift repairs to the backing (carpentry skills came in handy here). But that is not the fault of these covers which look nice and fit great. Bad quality material and wrong size. There is not enough material to pull the front of the cover down enough to get it to sit right. The seam sits too high making the cover look cheap.
