Knife Sharpener

I would have given it a higher rating except for the size. I think it could have been somewhat larger and still been great for backpacking and camping. It does exactly like it says, the sharpening areas are great and you have several different grits to choose from, the leather strop area needs to be larger although it will work.
Overall it is a great tool to put in your backpack, bug out bag, fishing tackle, hunting gear or whatever else you think of. I will more than likely order another one for a spare.Read full review

Great portable sharpener

Very easy to use for maintaining razor sharp edges on knives, machetes, hatchets and other blades. Its small enough to toss in the backpack for quick touch ups in the field. excellent sharpener

angle guides helped alot on my folders gets me to a razor edge in just a few passes. The coarse stone is a bit too coarse for any maintenance but could put an edge, or entirely re-profile a very dull knife (YMMV). To maintain my knives i just use the fine grit and ceramic rods and finish with the strop, I rarely use the coarse. overall a very good field sharpener ill probably buy another if I break this one or I loose it.Read full review

So, I just received this in the mail, and right away I was impressed the Finger 'Friendly' recess in the Holding area; something that I personally find lacking in other Sharpeners. Well, I just took 2 Knives -one a Folder and the Other, a Fixed blade. And while I have have used 'Better'* sharpeners; I have Not had one of this quality and ease of use. This is [[Well]] worth the $30/Shipped that I paid. This is a quick -and I mean 3 minute Quick- 5-Stage Sharpener, that took my some-what dull blades, and turned them into Razors. No Exaggeration whatsoever. As a some-what expert at sharpening knives, I found this to be a sharpener that takes all the Guess Work out of getting the Correct angle (Edge) on a Blade Quickly, while sharpening; and would be an Excellent sharpener for a BOB or Primary Gear bag, Tackle Box, or Hunting Pack. As well as something to give to others who are less experienced, or even New to sharpening their own blades. I rate this 9/10; AND THE REASON IT DOESN'T GET A 10, is because it is just a 'Tad' too large. It measures 6 7/8" long, and that is about an inch too long for my liking; since it will not fit n the Stone Compartment of my USMC Fixed Blade Tactical. lol (*By 'Better', I mean Sharpeners that cannot be taken with you. Such as Wheel Sharpeners, Electric Sharpeners, and or Sharpeners that are Single Mode style and generally incapable of covering so many different Functions, such as this one.)Read full review

Nice features, and light weight!

The course and fine diamond plates are magnetic and are easily removed but stay put. Removing the plates actually reveals a space inside where you could store something like fish hooks and line, tinder maybe a small guide on knot tying or whatever else you can think of. The guides are nice, it's very easy to keep a consistent angle, and makes it so that anyone can sharpen or touch-up a blade with ease. It's got a ceramic rod for fine tuning and a felt surface for final retouching/polishing. The rod can be rotated to keep from wearing it down in one spot, and rotating it also reveals a fish hook sharpener. It also comes equipped with a smaller ceramic rod that fits most serrated edge blades. It's lightweight and ergonomic so it's comfortable and safe while using. THE VERY FINEIST PRACTICAL KNIFE SHARPENER

It took me some time to find the name of this sharpener that I had seen very briefly when I was cruising the internet. I have bought several knife sharpeners over the years, and while none of them are shabby by any means, this sharpener really made me curious. Once I had the name and could see reviews, I was hooked. I am a long-term E-Bay shopper, so I was waiting to find the sharpener with the best price and shipping. Now that I have the sharpener, I can say without hesitation that it is the ne plus ultra of sharpeners! Having the guides for both sharpening and honing is a huge plus for me, since it eliminates detailed set-up. It is, after all, a field sharpener; and for camp or trail use, it will be superb. I've used this for honing kitchen knives (I'm waiting to use the sharpener feature) and the small honing rod for serrated knives, which works very well. I don't want to forget the stropping leather. This was a feature that put me over the edge for getting one. Excellentatious!

This is, by far, the best field sharpener I've ever owned. Easy to follow instructions, quality materials, and does get your knives razor sharp. Be aware, however, you'll need to remove the ceramic rod by pushing pin out with something smaller in order to clean the rod after each use. Came across this product sometime in 2019. If you are modestly experienced with creating sharp edges on blades this tool functions very well. No batteries or outlets required.
