This disk is great for a PS4 upgrade !!! Double the space and way faster!!

This disk was perfect for upgrading my PS4 from 500 gig to 1 TB. The new Hitachi disk is 7200 rpm instead of the PS4 standard 5400 rpm disk. Now games load faster, I would say 30-40% faster overall. Installing new games is much faster than 40% improvement - more like 50-60% faster. The PS4 comes standard with the 500 gb disk - and gets full after 11-12 games. Then you have to uninstall one to install the next - which got to be a pain pretty quickly. I looked at 1 & 2 TB disk upgrades and chose this because of the faster load times, and doubling the capacity of the PS4. The 2 GB small form factor sata disks were all 5400 rpm. I opted for the faster load times and am very pleased with the results. The Sony website has the upgrade instructions and system download image packaged for free and easy upgrade by anyone that can turn a screw driver and follow the USB save instructions. Only real hassle was to save and restore game progress between hard drives, you have to do it one game at a time - not all 12 at once. Minor inconvenience - whole upgrade took only 15 minutes ; then installing 12 games and system updates for everything took another hour or so. But it was notably faster to install on the upgraded disk than the first time around. It's been a couple of months and several new games since I did this and highly recommend this upgrade for both space and speed of your PS4. perfect for backup or a ps3

this has a good med-large capacity it is very quite and I have experience with this model of Hitachi and it is very good for performance and reliability, this drive is perfect for using in an external drive enclosure with usb 3.0 for backing up your PC or PS3 or for using as a drive replacement for a PS3 and being 7200 RPM you would see a little performance boost on your PlayStation, it is very quite basically just a great drive. great HDD!

this is my second purchase of this model hdd. having replaced an old asus k40 500mb 5400rpm drive and now a newer Toshiba l855 that came with a 650mb 5400rpm drive. I use these laptops for home studio recording. and have nothing bad to say. bigger and faster read/write is what I needed. is it louder? rarely when I record. I don't hear the Hdd I hear the cooling fan more than anything due to high processor work on audio editing or recording. Great HDD!Read full review...

So far I am very pleased with this speedy drive

I installed this drive in a 2012 Mac mini as a second drive. I don't have a good way to measure performance, but it certainly seems a bit faster than the stock drive (500GB, 5400 RPM, 3Gbps SATA II). I can say that the drive is virtually silent and it hasn't added any perceptible heat to the system. I tested it with a three pass format writing all blocks and there were no errors.
We'll have to see how long the drive lasts in daily use. I do have another HGST drive (3.5 in SATA, 1 TB, 5400 RPM) that has been left powered on for about three years without any errors.Read full review...
