Electronic dynamo/generator regulator
As well as being intended for use on VWs this electronic/solid-state dynamo (generator) regulator is ideal for upgrading generator circuits on vintage & classic vehicles that have mechanical regulators. This unit is commonly known as Bosch 30019 and has cut-out (diodes), voltage regulation (12V) and current regulation up to 35A. Be aware of your generator type and its limitations as well as the circuit configuration and polarity. With a bit of research you will find that this regulator can be used in a variety of circuit configurations. Not for use with alternatorsRead full review...

Pleased with performance
This regulator seems to be very steady in its output. I've noticed there has been no dimming of my headlights or interior lights under load, like there had been with previous mechanical voltage regulators, and so far I'm very pleased with how the unit has performed.Read full review...

Used as pit bike regulator with my rectifier.
Did a Lifan engine swap on my 1967 Yamaha trailmaster. The rectifier was supposed to be fine to power LED lights, but it put out so much voltage it was burning out bulbs. My stock regulator was only going to work with the stock motor. I knew the Bosch would work perfectly. This one is smaller so it fit into the motorcycle frame better. With the regulator and battery I'm having no issues with bulbs burning out.Read full review...

Fixed my problem
I replaced my old mechanical regulator with this one. Works as advertised, I'm happy that I didn't have to replace the generator. Time will tell how long this new regulator will stand up.

Good prices, good service.
Not installed or running yet, but like the updated part for the old VW Bug.
Had a question about polarization, and you guys were quick getting back with me.

Worth the money
Far superior to the old mechanical regulators. Makes a generator charge and act more like an alternator. No more dimming lights or low charging. Direct replacement to boot. Very happy

Generator dash light no longer flickers. I get a solid 14v now.

Big difference!
If you are running a generator in your vw, this voltage regulator greatly improves your charging system. If generator maintenance is maintained, there may not be a need for an alternator upgrade!
