Better than I expected

I’ve heard some negative things about the Vo2 intake online. People saying the fit and finish was bad, or certain things didn’t line up, or that the aluminum needed deburring. Maybe the quality control at V&H isn’t the best, but my filter looks and fits great, had zero issues with putting it together other than the bracket that holes the filter to the head to keep it from moving had a rather thick layer of powder coating on it that made one of screws kinda tricky to get started.

As far as functionality goes, i installed this on a 2017 SCR950 (same engine as bolt) along with a Two Brothers Racing “Comp S” exhaust and a Cobra FI2000R tuner and oh man, this filter was the weak link. The bike never ran *bad* per say, but the installation of the intake after doing the other mods totally woke it up. The butt dyno confirms for sure. I don’t know if the bike will power wheelie, but you can definitely feel the front end get loose under heavy acceleration.

Overall, I bought this as much for looks (completed the retro look of the SCR) as I did performance and I’m extremely happy on both ends.

PS- It DID come with the screw to plug the hole where the OEM covers go. I like the naked look myself, but some people complained about the lack of a screw to cover the hole where the covers that V&H sells to dress up the filter and mine did come with a screw to plug the hole.Read full review...

Need your XV950R to breath easier, get a V&H O2 Air Cleaner

Great product, nicely finished, but some deburring was needed on the aluminium billet machined mount. Fitted and tested it but now found that I definitely need a fuel control system, this being a stage 1 performance modification. Once this a controller is fitted (Dobeck 3.0 Electronic Jet Kit) it should work well. No mention of moving the rubber seals from the original air box to the O2 clear in the instructions though!Read full review...
