Direct replacement for the original...both the good and the bad
This is a direct replacement, almost. This remote has an "I-Heart" key as one of the three app keys where my original has a different button (apparently there were a few variations in the original Vizio remotes). I can't make the I-Heart key work, which Is of little consequence. The rest of the remote is a clone of the original.
I noted it is not easy to program because this IS NOT a programmable remote. What this remote needs is illuminated buttons. Black keys on a black housing are tough to read in a dimly lit room. Meh, only a little better than the original
I bought this to replace original remote, xrt510, that came with the TV. This one works better but the buttons are squishy. The original remote was stressing me out when it refused to work unless I stood right in front of the TV and pointed it to the left. I thought it was the batteries but no.
So after using this remote for a few weeks, it is not as good as I thought. The channel button and volume button do not always respond and have to press continuously and get real close to the TV to work. Usually have to press a few times for it to respond and sometimes theres a 1-3 second delay before it actually changes channel. But its better than the original remote which stresses me out. Nothing to program. It is basicallly basic.
This is the basically basic remote that came with the TV. On the plus side it doesn't need any programming to run the tv. Put in batteries, point at the TV and it turns it off and on. Like the original it needs to be pointed at a perfect spot to work. It does the basic stuff. It turns TV off and on, changes the input and changes channels of and changes the tv volume. My dog loves chewing remotes, but I can just get another at this reasonable price. Not fancy,but if you just need lots of remotes this is a ticket. Read full review

Took a chance on this since my vizio model was not listed as compatable. Happy to say is does work with my new V-series model. I didn't like the remote that came with the new TV.
