The TomTom Multi-Sport is a great GPS watch for Running and Cycling

Bought this watch for Running and Cycling to replace a Garmin Forerunner 205. Had the Garmin for several years but the buttons wore out.

PROS:
Watch is super compact and light. So small, hard to believe it is a GPS watch!
Acquires satellite fix quickly.
Large, easy to read display with pleasing font.
Simple and intuitive screen navigation with 4 directional button.
Uploads data wirelessly to smart phones via bluetooth.
Dedicated Cycling mode unlike most Garmin watches.
Price $ compared to similar Garmins.

CONS:
No ON/OFF switch.
No low battery warning.
No autopause feature. If you stop for a drink of water or at a red light you have to remember to pause AND resume the watch. Easy to forget and frustrating when you've continued activity for some time and look down to find it paused.
TomTom app does not work on older iPads (prior to 3rd gen.

My biggest complaint is the lack of an OFF switch. The watch is ON until the battery dies, thus you need to re-charge it more often. I only need it for 30 minutes to an hour a few times a week. I don't want to risk damage by wearing such an expensive device as an everyday watch. With my Garmin I could go weeks without recharging since I could turn it OFF and a message would pop up when the charge was low. Twice so far the TomTom has died in the middle of activity because I didn't realize that the battery was almost out of juice.

I knew there were going to be tradeoffs going with a TomTom over Garmin. Overall I'm relatively happy with the TomTom Multi-Sport. The price was right, it has a Cycling mode and wireless data uploads are convenient.

Great Mountain biking GPS

I bought this watch for mountain biking, trail running and treadmill.
What I like
1. The control button below the display
2. The simple intuitive menus
3. The large numbers in displays excellent for visually challenged
4. The GPS locks on fast and stays locked on even in the thick redwood forest
5. The simple quick usb charging dock
6. The software interface is simple with decent information
I would buy another or suggest it for a friend
What I didn't like
1. You cannot see the actual time on the running and riding displays
2. You cannot toggle back to look at time without stopping your current session
3. The online map needs to be full screen
4. the data download from watch to software is slow

Fast syncing to satellite

This watch is a replacement to my broken Nike + sportwatch...and unlike the nike watch it syncs in under a minute to satellites...no need for the waiting here.

Great gps mapping, not so great heart rate.

Heart runs way to high in temperatures below 55 degrees for 5minutes, then settles back to normal read out. Will read as high as 220 when should be 160.β˜ΊπŸ˜•πŸ˜

so far so good.

probably the best looking gps watch out there. The watch does what it says - gps tracking for multi-sports. Current software allow my activities to automatically sync with my existing Strava account. That's big plus for a long time strava user.Read full review...
