Toot Toot/Yummy Yummy - The Wiggles

Well, this feels somewhat strange, writing a review on a childrens DVD but, i'm gonna have a go and write it based on how much my daughter enjoys it.
For those that are not Wiggles afficienados, the Wiggles are 4 Auzzie blokes - Greg, Murray, Anthony and Jeff. This DVD, like their others, is extremely colourful with vast amounts of singing and dancing. The songs are, on the whole, easy to pick up and sing along with, but there are subtitles for those who need a bit of help to get going. The dance routines (of which there is a different one for every song) are infectious and you'll probably find any young children in the vicinity jigging along with them in no time. The good thing about the Wiggles is that they frequently sing (and dance) about everyday things - on this DVD they have songs about crossing the road and eating healthily - but not in a "ooooh you should do this kids 'cos its good for you" way. They also sing many songs from different cultures and in different languages which, in today's diverse society, is a beneficial aspect. Personally, my recommendation would be that, if you are thinking of buying your first Wiggles DVD, i would say go for 'Its a Wiggly, Wiggly World', which i would consider to be a much better 'introduction' to the weird and wonderful world of the Wiggles (and believe you me, as a parent, as you'll know, the little darlings don't get fed up of seeing the DVD a THOUSAND times. On the trot. Everyday... (no, i'm fine, honestly...) Its not that theres anything wrong with this, its just that it doesn't introduce the characters that frequent all Wiggles DVD's as well as 'Its a Wiggly, Wiggly World'. On the whole, this is a good DVD for the kids and worth adding to your Wiggles collection (oh yes, you'll get a collection - i said the same, and now we've got eight of 'em...). Get it. Review of The Wiggles Toot Toot /Yummy Yummy (DVD 2005)

I wanted to buy a Wiggles DVD for my daughter because she loves them! We had a clip of the Wiggles on a childrens compilation DVD and she kept asking for the Wiggles again and again.

Toot Toot/Yummy Yummy didn't disappoint and she has it on all the time (maybe a little too much!) It is a DVD with 2 episodes packed with 32 songs, rhymes, play and dance that my daughter absolutely loves. It really strikes a chord with my 2 year old, and I definately got my money's worth as it is always her first choice when we turn on the television.

I don't have anything bad to say about the DVD, apart from perhaps the poor parent who has to sit through it over and over may go a little insane!Read full review...

Wiggles are Fab!

Personally, I find the Wiggles ever so slightly creepy, however my son, who is rapidly approaching 2, really loves them, and asks for the DVD every morning. I ask him if he wants Toot Toot or Yummy Yummy and he chooses, then we pop it on for a bit whilst I make his brekkie.
He loves singing, and he happily will sit and sing along with this whilst attempting to do the hand motions and often will try to dance as well.
I like the fact that they are trying to instill 'good values' and 'healthy eating', 'crossing the road safely' etc. Some of it misses the mark for him - I guess because he is so young - the Wiggles puppets for instance frighten him. I'd definately recommend this for younger viewing though.Read full review...

great wiggles dvd!! get you dancing!!

My 2 year old son is obsessed with THe Wiggles, loves this DVD. Will tell me which one he wants to watch, says 'toot toot' or yum yum!
He amazed me the other day whilst walking, as we went to cross the road he started singin one tune from dvd about crossing the road safely, and done the actions, stopping and looking. So not only is he having a whale of a time watching, but more importantly learning without knowing.
Has kept him entertained, and would recommend highly. Loads of catchy songs, and can even play the songs without having to watch the full 'episode'. I'd say its given my peace for a while, but the songs get in your head AHHH! But good fun for toddlers. Cant see why they love it though, very strange.
