The Office Season 5

Over eight weeks of the summer, a Dunder Mifflin weight-loss initiative causes the branch to diet and become obsessed with their weight. Michael pursues a friendship with his new HR rep, Holly. Andy plans his wedding to Angela, while she continues her affair with Dwight. Jim misses Pam who attends art school in New York, and he finally proposes. A disgraced Ryan returns to the Scranton office as a temp. Following Ryan's recent scandal, Holly holds an ethics seminar. Everyone speaks freely about their unethical behavior at work and Meredith causes a rift between Michael and Holly when Meredith admits a supplier gives her discounts on products and steak coupons in exchange for sex. Holly is ostracized by the staff, but when she is humiliated by the head of Human Resources, Michael once again supports her. Meanwhile, Jim makes Dwight comply with the company's "time theft" policy by timing every second of his personal activity. Michael practices for the birth of Jan’s baby by having Dwight go over possible birthing scenarios. When Jan arrives for the office baby shower, she has already had baby Astrid, excluding Michael from the process, and he feels disconnected from the baby. Meanwhile, Michael pretends to dislike Holly for Jan’s benefit, but Jan senses their connection and asks Michael not to date Holly. Michael goes to Holly for comfort and they agree to date. The separation between Jim and Pam starts to take a toll on their relationship. Michael and Holly have sex in the office on a date and inadvertently lead to the office being robbed. Michael holds an auction to raise money for all the items lost. On Phyllis's advice, Dwight gives Angela an ultimatum to break up with Andy, which she refuses to do. Pam gets a part-time job at corporate to pay for art school, and Jim is further unsettled after Roy insinuates that he is losing her. When corporate transfers Holly to Nashua, Michael (with Darryl's help) moves her back to New Hampshire. Their plans to continue dating are dashed and they break up, and Darryl teaches Michael to sing the blues. Pam meets Jim's brothers, who pull a prank on Jim, which embarrasses her. Dwight torments Andy by becoming a fan of Cornell University. Pam is embarrassed when she is the only person at corporate wearing a costume on Halloween. Dwight and Jim are shocked when they receive poor marks on their annual customer survey reports. They learn that Kelly has sabotaged their scores for blowing off her America's Got Talent wrap party. A sympathetic Michael and Kelly relish their discomfort. Through Angela's manipulations, she and Andy book their wedding at Schrute Farms B&B. Pam and Jim spend every minute together using their Bluetooth phones, including Jim overhearing Pam's friend Alex asking her to stay in New York. CFO David Wallace sends Michael to Winnipeg, Manitoba for business. Andy and Oscar accompany him and become unlikely friends when they drunk dial Angela. Although Michael makes the sale and has a one-night stand, he rebukes David for transferring Holly. Jim counts down the days until Pam gets back from art school; she fails a course but comes back to Scranton anyway. Ryan seduces Kelly, who in turn breaks up with Darryl. HR Rep Toby returns from Costa Rica, driving Michael insane. He and Dwight attempt to get Toby fired for cause by planting "drugs" (actually caprese salad) in Toby's desk. Pam is upset that someone in the office has made a mess in the microwave and will not clean it up..............Read full review...

The Office- Season 5 DVD

In my opinion, the whole series of The Office is the best show on TV and the DVDs are also very nice. The DVDs have great bonus features, bonus scenes and blooper reels. If you are taking a trip and you want something to watch, look no further than The office. The writing in all aspects is not just unbelieviably hilarious but also purely genius in plot design. All episodes of the office are great to watch at all times, weather you are in a car, or just sitting at home. The humor of the office and the character types in it have had a positive impact on my life, and while that may sound a little dramatic, it's true. If you are thinking about purchasing any other the office seasons, DO NOT HESITATE! These DVDs are truely amazing and another show like it will never wander across a TV screen ever again.Read full review...

Perhaps the Best Season of The Office! This is Dwight at His Absolute Best!

This is simply a great season of The Office. I thought the fourth season was perhaps a little bit weak, but the fifth picks right back up where the third season left off - being absolutely hilarious. Dwight is at his best in this season. He kicks Stanley's birthday cake, causes a fire-induced frenzy among his coworkers, engages in a fierce master and apprentice paper-selling competition with Michael, and tricks Angela into marrying him. My favorite Dwight moment of the entire series, though, comes when he cuts the face off of a CPR dummy and does his best impression of Anthony Hopkins from "Silence of the Lambs." That is one of my favorite Office moments ever, one that had me almost rolling in laughter. This season also contains the marriage proposal by Jim to Pam, maybe the biggest moment of the series. One drawback of season five, at least in my opinion, is the amount of drama it has. That's a trend that started in season four but maybe it's necessary to keep fan interest. Overall, this is a superb season of one of the best shows on television (one of the only good shows on television, I should say). It's a necessity for any fan of The Office and of Dwight at his maniacal best.Read full review...

Gosh, what a deal!!!

Season 5, what a great season. Everything just gets better and better, and all the characters that are in Season 5, I just can't get enough. Things are hilariously awkward, weird, shocking, and just plain fun in Season 5, I can't go into details because I want you to buy it. And there are also extras on each of the DVDs, if your an Office addict, might as well purchase this DVD set also, cuz I know you have the other 4. If you are not an office addict, be sure to start with the 1st and 2nd season, I didn't get into this show till about the 4th episode into the 2nd season, and the 1st season is only 6 episodes. Anyway, Michael might have found the love of his life, and Pam and Jim are gonna have some serious moments, while Dwight tries to steal ideas from Michael, and Angela starts licking her cats, and soooo much MORE!!!!Read full review...

Great Show

Season 5 of The Office was quite great. I was able to catch all the epsiodes when they aired on TV or Hulu originally but was still glad to have this collection. Season 5 is funnier than the last season and hey I liked season 4 too. You get the fall out of Andy [Ed Helms from The Hangover] and Angela [Angela Kinsey] relationship when he finally finds out Dwight [Rainn Wilson - The Rocker] has been sleeping with Angela. Some great antics with Michael Scott [Steve Carell - Get Smart] as he falls for the loveable Holly [recurring guest star Amy Ryan - Gone Baby Gone]. And Jim [Jon Krasinski - Away We Go] proposes to Pam [Jenna Fischer - Walk Hard]. And of course the rest of the cast which is always top notch. If you like the previous seasons - this wont dissapoint.Read full review...

You're an idiot if you don't love this show.

This is a show that annoyed me beyond belief when I first watched it. I couldn't fathom how any real person would put up with people like Michael and Dwight without beating the shite out of them on a daily basis. Well, that feeling faded quickly when I realized that was the point. This show is based on cringe. And let me tell you - they are GREAT at it. This show has become my favorite show of all time. I have watched every episode at least a dozen times. I put it on for background noise more often than I care to admit. Each character is vital to the series. HIGHLY recommend you meet these characters if, for some reason, you have not yet. And Rainn Wilson, if you're out there - reading this....let's get a drink, buddy.Read full review...
