The Long Walk review

The story is really engaging from start to finish. After reading I found there were too many hard to believe incidents of the ordeal that make the tale a bit beyond belief. Others question that perhaps the story is a fabrication. I agree--unfortunately.Read full review...

The long walk is true adventure-and it's true.

I first read this 5 years ago and have never forgotten the thrill of reading it. I was able to put it down a couple of times, while i slept or had a meal, but that was hard to do. It is compelling. I lost it in my move and just had to have it in my library again, hence, this purchase. READ IT!Read full review...

The Long Walk

I loved the book. I bought another one, because I loaned my first one out and couldn't remember who had it. It is an excellent book.

Very interesting, gripping story of perseverance

This book is one of those true life sagas that is almost hard to believe. It is full ouf courage regardless, as the author and several others escape a prison camp in Siberia in the winter and walk all the way to India over the next many months, including an incredible passage thru the Gobi desert and over the Himalayas. Well worth reading if you like true adventure rather than fantasy adventure!Read full review...

An Amazing Human Epic

I enjoy reading about human epics like Shackeltons Endurance and Touching the Void so a friend recommended this to me and I'm glad he did. This is the true story of an amazing human epic about surviving and the search for freedom.

A great read. I had to force my self to put it down. This book helps you put some things into perspective.

Well worth a read.

This book was better than I expected. A detailed and awe-inspiring account of quest for freedom. A triumph of the human spirit over one obstacle after another. This book was an easy read, and I couldn't put it down once I started.Read full review...

Incredible story of survival

This is one of the greatest survival stories I have ever read. As a avid outdoor person who hikes all the time, I can't imagine surviving this ordeal. Even before the escape I would have given up (I think). A must read.Read full review...
