I was so excited when I got my Honeymooners set of disc that I immediately started to watch the first disc. Half was through the disc it started to skip and stall and when I took it out I noticed it was damaged. So far the other disc that I watched (two of them) seen to be OK but I haven't had time to go through the set and inspect them. October 5th, 2011 marks the 60th anniversary of the beginning of a perennial television classic known as "The Honeymooners". One of television's most influential and beloved programs, "The Honeymooners" starring Jackie Gleason first appeared in 1951 on the Dumont network's "Cavalcade Of Stars". "The Jackie Gleason Show" followed on CBS-TV, during 1952-'55 and 1956-'57, featuring "Honeymooners" episodes which were all aired live and not part of the 39 filmed shows from 1955-'56. For decades, the early "Honeymooners" live telecasts were lost. Now, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the very first "Honeymooners" episodes, this box set presents the most complete collection possible of these rare gems, many of which have not been seen anywhere in decades. It is a treasure trove of the hilarious antics of hapless Brooklyn bus driver Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason), his long-suffering but loving wife (Audrey Meadows), Ralph's pal and sewer worker Ed Norton (Art Carney) and Norton's wife Trixie (Joyce Randolph). Early episodes feature Pert Kelton as Alice and Elaine Stritch as Trixie. The quality of the video appears to be better than the original black & white broadcasts of long ago but no matter what, this is great comedy performed by extremely talented people who were capable of performing 'live' on TV without 're-takes', were funny without any bad innuendos, and could ad-lib without missing a beat unlike the over-paid, untalented slugs of today who think they are comedians by acting gross and crude.
