Learning history the easy way

This is a very good series. It is historically accurate and helps the viewer understand what events prompted the influx of Irish immigrants to the U.S. in the mid 18th century. The acting is very good and the story very good. I have recommended this series to those of Irish decent as a way to understand what their ancestors went through. Good history in a palatable form. Besides, I am a Michael Kitchen fan and he was very good in this series.Read full review...

The Hanging Gale

I thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation of the problems in Ireland during the potato famine. I know of the actor Paul McGann but did not know he has three brothers who also act. I'm a big fan of Michael Kitchen and as usual his performance did not disappoint. Anyone who is a big fan of Foyle's War will enjoy seeing Michael Kitchen in this period piece.

Great movie. Michael Kitchen did a fabulous job in this movie. I love watching him act. He has a way of expressing his thoughts and emotions by his facial expressions.
