Missed the mark

The premise if the approach taken by the authors of the book seems to be that there are unresolved issues between the person dealing with grief and the person who died. In my case that isn't at all the case.Read full review...

A whole new way of looking at how to deal with grief.

We are working our way through the exercises in this book with the guidance of a therapist. She has used it successfully many times with her patients and I can see why. We highly recommend it as it clarifies so many difficult issues in EVERYBODY'S life.Read full review...

The Grief Recovery Handbook

I appreciated this books as an alternative to Kubler Ross's stages of grief. The book is set up for you to be able to work through your grief with another person or alone if you don't have someone available. It is a remarkable book that helps one understand what is helpful and not helpful in dealing with a broken heart, spirit, relationships etc. It give positive actions persons can take to heal their brokenesss by utlizing suggestions in the book. They challenge the reader to think about one's life and work through grief in a healing manner.Read full review...

Please Buy It and Use It !!!!!!!!!!!!! Miraculous

This is an amazing program and very easy to follow. It saved me from being 'stuck' after the death of my first husband. I am a tough lady but was emotionally unable to deal with his death. A friend who is a nurse suggested I try this book. . .what a MIRACLE!!! It allowed me to continue with my life w/o that haunting sadness. I even married again and he has since passed. Because of the pieces I learned the first time, I was able to work through it and emerge myself again. I miss them both but all my memories are happy ones and I relish them when they appear. Of course one is going to be sad and probably lonely but if one uses this book it will be bearable and finally you can begin to move forward - which I believe is what our dear, loved, departed ones would wish for us. Please try it!!!!Read full review...

Excellent grief support book

I had my own copy that helped me with the loss of my son, Erik at the age of 33. One of his best friends from the Air Force recently lost his wife and mother to his children. I felt it might help him if not now then later as he tries to understand his own grief.Read full review...

Worthwhile

Have not yet finished this book, but so far I would recommend it. It was recommended to me by hospice after the recent passing of husband.
At this time of Covid shutdowns, there are no in-person grief support groups.ThanxRead full review...

Everyone Should Have This

My counselor suggested this book, it details exactly why we are so bad at greiving, as everyone says all the wrong rhings from our childhood on. It provides a somewhat useful to do list, but assumes that we have not done all we could for our lost loved ones. This book also deals with non-human losses, which is terrific. Next to the Bible, this is the other book everyone should have.Read full review...
