Excellent spectrum analyzer, simple to use
It has digital recording, automatic marker. The version with Tracking Generator is perfect for filter analysis, sweep is fast. VERY easy to repair, trouble shot and calibrate, and full component level documentation is on-line. I have two with TG! Flip side: needs 15 minute warm-up time, no EXT 10 MHz reference for metrology maniacs.Read full review...

Tektronix 2712 spectrum analyzer
While not as sophisticated as some other spec ans. , the 2712 is easy to use and does a great job. Manual is a bit of a pain, but you get used to it.

Classic Tektronix quality - a joy to use
The unit arrived in perfect physical condition - like new.
A known fault with the front panel was easily fixed by replacing a small CMOS chip.
The unit now functions like new - easy to use and setup, seemingly very accurate.
Like any good piece of test equipment, this analyzer is a joy to use.

Good analyzer; needs calibration.
Won't pass the frequency and amplitude normalization self-test, so it doesn't automatically come up to the spectral screen. This means it needs calibration. I think I can do that.

I cannot figure out why people will spend so much cash on dodgy newer units when these older units are great.
Perfect for EMC pre-qual with the right ancillary equipment. Make sure you get the EMC bandwidth options.
