USB 2.4Ghz WiFi adapter that really works on Linux

I was having WiFi dropout on my Lenovo Thinkpad edge E545 via internal WiFi module(Can't upgrade it as Lenovo does Whitelisting in the Bios) on Manjaro Mate Linux, so I tried a few other adapters that claimed they work on Linux, but in the end did not even after compiling the drivers from the AUR, with one even screwing up my install but after a clean install of Manjaro MATE 21.0.3(saw the adapter right away in the live USB πŸ‘)I attached this to the back of my screen with some double sided tape, plugged in a USB 3.0 extension cable to a USB 3.0 port, and I'm getting on average between 30Mbps - 50Mbps on the far edge of my house connected to the main router. πŸ‘πŸ‘Read full review...

Not good for using in monitor mode to try to do packet capturing

This version does not support monitor mode, so it's not a good choice for using with Wireshark in doing penetration testing or ethical white-hat hacking.

If you're just using it for WiFi activity, it gets good reception and works well in both Windows 7 and Kali Linux.Read full review...

"Small, fast, and wide compatability"

This works great. Windows (even 7) can run this with it's own drivers. A driver disk is included for more functionality. It runs plug-n-play on Linux Mint and Kali Linux with no setup. It's got good speed and connectivity. I can carry this with me to anyone's computer (I don't know about Macs) and have WiFi internet with my phone's hotspot. It's a great device to have in my toolbox.Read full review...

Brand New Affordable and Works like a Charm

I bought this product for Pen testing (Cyber Term) this is checking security of your wireless. It came with software and I downloaded the wireless tool for windows on the manufacturer web page. After the drivers installed plug it in and bam it’s good to go.

Kali users: I was able to add it to the vm with ease. The guides online made setup on kali extremely easy and promiscuous mode was too easy and worked well. This is in a student environment and I do not condone other uses but if you wanted to this should work great. It also came with a usb extension maybe 6 feet or so. This could be used to place in a backpack or something while using pc in open as to not look to suspicious.

I would recommend this product for daily use as well fast speeds and a good option for users on laptops stuck on 2.4. Should work great for desktop users as a wireless card.

A++++

Thanks for quality service and communication added to saved stores!

Good WiFi adapter

This WiFi adapter receives a better signal than the WiFi nic on my motherboard. The reception is similar to the D Link pcie WiFi adapter I had in the past. So based on my experience it’s a solid WiFi adapter and pretty comparable to other name brand adapters. The price is excellent.Read full review...

TP-LINK TL-WN722N

I've had problems getting a good wireless signal on my desktop located in a detached garage about 40' from the house where the modem/router is located. My laptop's wireless adapter worked better in the garage then my desktop. Both machines are Dell and about the same age using Windows 7. I've moved the router in every possible location in the house trying to get a better signal out in the garage. Even purchased a new modem/router the other day hoping to gain signal strength and even tried a network extender but the signal strength remained fair or poor. My wireless adapter in my desktop is not replaceable without replacing the mother board. So, I purchased this item. It came with everything as described and was easy and fast to set up. Instantly I had full signal strength and the desktop was working with great speed. I liked the fact it was easy to set up and it had a adjustable antenna. It works and I'm extremely satisfied with this product.Read full review...

Works great with Reaver & Wifite

Using this on a Raspberry Pi running Dietpi. I wanted to do some security testing using Reaver & Wifite not all dongles work with this software or with the Raspberrypi, this one does and quite well at that. The replaceable antenna is nice as you can add a higher gain antenna for more range. The included antenna gives plenty of signal for around your home as it is but sometimes you might like a little more range. A real bargain that is always at the top of the list when wifi dongles are tested.Read full review...

(Version 1) Works with Kali Linux and VM for pen testing

Version 1 of this product was recommended highly for use with Kali Linux, but ONLY Version 1. I looked around to make sure I was getting the right product, and this one had the V1 in the description where others didn't necessarily specify. I was a little skeptical, but what I received was exactly what was promised and it works as advertised.

I use Kali Linux for pen testing, and I run it from a Virtual Machine (VMware Fusion) on a MacBook Pro. Kali will not recognize the internal WiFi from a VM, hence the need for an external USB source. This product was truly plug and play. Once inserted, it was recognized and I clicked to associate it with my VM. No other setup was required and it has performed flawlessly.

I can't speak to the needs of others (performance, price, compatibility, etc.) but for my needs (Kali Linux pen testing) it was just what I was looking for.

Nice and quick and easy

Didn't have a box so be aware of that if you want a box but the box is useless in my opinion as long as I got the product. Baught it accidentally canceled it , contacted him to ignore the cancel request . Couple weeks later here it is , has the antenna piece , cap , and the chip so basically the full Wifi Card in good shape no issues . Can right off the bat Tell it's a Version 1 (V1) mainly cause the Actual Chip inside (when taken apart) has a big metal piece to protect the chip . V2 just has a small chip . So definitely works on Monitor Mode with Kali . Thanks πŸ‘πŸ»Read full review...

Works well with OpenSuSE Linux and WinXP

XP setup easy and good software utility. Adapter is covered by recent Linux kernel modules also. With OpenSuSE 13.2, needed to switch to Network Manager rather than default "Wicked" service. Works fine after going through the extra steps and adventure that Linux setup often is for non-experts (like me.) But as usual, there is information available in community forums to help out with it. No regrets!Read full review...

Works great but consider if you are a windows 8 user

The product works great. It might bug you a little bit if you are a windows 8 user since the utility come with the cd is not compatible with windows 8 OS. The utility works perfectly fine with windows 7 and windows 10.
If you're a windows 8 user and want to use this adapter, you might need to afford not using the utility as I've said above. You still can figure out how to use this adapter with windows 8 by visiting YouTube.
