It's a unmanaged switch what really needs to be said it was just what I needed at a great price . Didn't matter if it was s refurb. How many times does a switch go bad? Come on really

IMO great products!!
I purchased this switch to expand my home network. I have a tp-link 8 port switch and an Archer C3200 router already so I'm very confident in this switch also..

works great
Dropped right in painlessly, seemed to have automatically fix some issues, and my network has never worked better. I suppose there are better solutions for many users, but for my needs it was a perfect fit.Read full review

A perfect unmanaged switch.
If an un-managed switch is all you need then this may be the unit for you.
I use this switch on a fairly vanilla network comprised of a mix of PCs, Macs (various types/vintages) and a couple of Linux machines. It does what I need quietly and with no need for administration.
I purchased this TP-Link unit based on a very positive experience that I had with a 5-port gigabit switch from TP-Link. I've run that smaller device for a couple of years now with no hassle at all.
A feature of the 16-port unit that I really like is that the status lights for the ports, and the ports themselves, are all on the front panel. That allows me to see what's going on by just glancing at box.
I did a few throughput tests when I first installed the unit, and occasionally test it to make sure it is providing its advertised bit-rate.
Like my previous TP-Link unit, this one just keeps on working as it did on day one.
I will also mention that I have my switches and routers plugged into UPS units to avoid electrical spikes and brownouts.
IMHO, this machine is about as close to a setup and forget device as is possible.Read full review
