Brings back the good old days.

Back when I was growing up, I had a tendency to download random games from various websites, and had somehow come across the demo for this game. I very much enjoyed it back then and decided to look it up on eBay. I saw it, I bought it, and I randomly play it now.

If you are looking for a game with good graphics, an indepth story, and great gameplay, look somewhere else.

Why rate it good then? Because it fit right in to the demographic in which it was aptly named to be in: Desktop Adventures.

Star Wars: Yoda Stories was part of a group of games under the name "Desktop Adventures". To me, that name means that the game is a small one, that is fun just to randomly play. It's better to think of it as a nowadays desktop widget more than a game.

The game is basically a puzzle game, with you starring as Luke Skywalker, who is sent out on various missions by Yoda. The program constructs random worlds with missions everytime you start new, but you can save your old worlds to continue playing till you finish. There is some fighting, but it's nothing to look forward to.

Some of the worlds you can visit include Hoth, Tatooine, and Dagoba (to name most of them). Every new game changes the map around so each square isn't the same (think squares as in Gameboy Zelda games), but the areas inside of the square may repeat themselves between worlds.

To sum it all up, don't expect anything glamorous from this game. But it is a nice little game if you find it for the right price.

PERFECT

Unlike other titles, Yoda Stories has no central plot or definitive goal - it's a collection of games where the player, controlling Luke Skywalker has to complete an objective like rescuing someone, obtaining an object, etc.

Each game starts with Luke arriving at Dagobah in a X-Wing. If the player is still a rookie, R2-D2 can be picked up, and dropped anytime for hints. After finding Yoda, he gives Luke one assignment and one object that will be required to complete it, and the game begins. Each gameworld is composed by 100 screens, but how many are active can be set in the options. To progress in the game, the player has to make errands, such as finding a key, or an object, until he reaches the final puzzle.

Yay!!

I've always disliked how small the window of gameplay is. But I've loved this game since I first played it several years ago. Lost my copy awhile back and had to buy another copy. I've been playing it quite a bit again. And incredibly, I'm still hooked on the game! It's simple, but entertaining.Read full review...

good game

It is a nice game if you have some time off.
Just like you would play solitaire or hearts.
It's fast, easy and fun. Nice puzzles and always different.

Yoda Stories is awesome!

This is a SOLID 2d Star Wars mini-game that is, as said before by someone on youtube, meant to be played with an open mind and heart. Nonetheless, it does contain interesting characteristics such as random level design and sorta random quests.

A bunch of fun! Go check it out and download the XP Compatability Patch *search for it on YAHOO*.

Dated. Not worth it.

When I saw the screen shots for this, I assumed that I was looking at the shots for the game boy. I was wrong. I guess it was dated '97 or so, but still. Warcraft I came out then too, but it did't suck.

This was just plain lame. It wasn't even worth the $5 I paid for it.

Don't waste your time.
