Looks can be intentional

Be certain, this is not a "studio camera," it can't hold a candle to a real professional camcorder with interchangeable lenses and XLR inputs. It just looks the part and is fun to use. It's a 2015-era "Full HD" camcorder in a chassis made to look like a shoulder mount camera; it's actually mostly hollow inside. But it's larger size makes it easier to handle, and it has a few more settings than a basic camcorder. Easy to use and very practical

My tech guy advised me to buy it and I was not disappointed. We did 2 huge events and it does have internal memory. Just make sure you have rechargeable batteries with it.

Still learning, just a few small gripes

I have only used it a few times - twice for actual assignments, and three times for testing. Also, I am far from an expert.

I wish the tripod mount was a bit more solid, and I wish it recorded more than two channels of audio.

I have had excellent results with the Sony Bluetooth microphone connected through the mi shoe, but wish I could record stereo with the standard mic and Bluetooth mic audio on a third channel.
