Wonderful

Great phone - simple, quick, reliable. If you do not an Internet and other "fireworks" in your handset - these are a perfect option. Would be even better if it had a torch.

Sony-Ericsson never dies ! ;)

The best phone I've ever had, lasts forever - the other one I got, identic, is 10 years old, never let me down. Also big screen and very lightweight, I wear mine as a necklace in a leather case. Bluetooth is a great plus. Love it !Read full review...

An elegant, feature packed phone with quality software

I bought three of these a year ago for the family. It's a good idea having everyone with the same phone to share knowledge, batteries, chargers etc. Anyway, I think the design is beautiful, elegant and understated but also robust. I've dropped it onto a hard wooden floor lots, but not a mark on it. So far we've had no issues with any of the phones. It's also very compact and easy to carry in a shirt pocket for example.

What I love is that it does so much. I have a 2gb memory card fitted. On this I have at the moment several full length movies (which I reduced to the K530i screen size) to watch on its Video Player, plus audio books, podcasts, MP3 music as well as photos and videos captured with the camera.

One of the great things about buying from a big manufacturer like SE is that because they sell so many phones they have plenty of time and experience to perfect their software. When writing text messages the predictive software is better than anything I've used before. I use the bundled 'Sony Ericsson PC Suite' software to synchronize with my PC. As I was having trouble recently with my ADSL connection I thought I'd experiment and try to connect my laptop to the internet via the K530i using this software. Not only did it work, but in 10 years of connecting PC's to the internet I've never before had a new internet connection up and running so quickly and simply.

Only a week ago I discovered and downloaded the free 'Sony Ericsson Media Manager' software to move videos, MP3's and other media files between PC and K530i. Again not only does the software look good but it's feature rich and works flawlessly. A surprise was that the software includes a great podcast subscription and download manager that can automatically check for new episodes on your subscribed podcast channels, download them and move them straight to your phone ready to listen to.

I also use the phone with an external Bluetooth BT-338 GPS unit, and run Googlemaps, Navigami, amAze and other third-party GPS tracking and navigating (Java) software.

The radio works well as does the Music Player, particularly the latter's ability to remember exactly where you left off listening previously and resume, as well as being able to fast forward and rewind through tracks.

The 2 mega pixel camera and the video recorder work fine. As I have a 'poper' camera I don't know or much care whether it's a good, bad or average phone camera, as long as it takes reasonable snaps, which it does. It also has a second camera on the front of the phone allowing you to make video calls if you've got 3G coverage.

I'm not a complete mobile phone addict, but I've had a few, starting with a Nokia analog phone about 13 years ago, through various Phillips, Siemens, NEC and Alcatel phones and a Vodafone PDA, but for features, style, reliability and pleasant surprises the K530i beats the lot by a long way.

Sony Ericsson K530i

The K530i is a more classic-looking handset that won't be as expensive as the K850i or W960i, but comes with a decent feature set nevertheless. It packs 3G connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, an FM radio & an expandable Memory Stick Micro slot. Another noteworthy feature is a pre-installed weather forecast application that gives you lets you see today's weather conditions & a three-day forecast. It's not the most striking handset of them all, but I still like what I see.Read full review...

Keeping IT Simple!

Having owned one of these for 18months, the battery life on mine was begining to die so a replacement was needed for this very intuitive no-nonsense mobile.

Ok I admit the 2MP camera won't match a dedicated camera, but for making and receiving calls and txts this handset is the best I have seen (and I was a die-hard Nokia fan - but find them overly complicated now).

It's smart too - if someone bluetooths me a picture or sound, it will automatically be placed into the appropriate "pictures" or "sounds" folder on the handset (or memory card).

I now consider myself a die-hard SonyEricsson fan and would encourage all switched on mobile users to switch!

Sony Ericsson K530i

I needed a replacement phone, so I read some reviews on this & took a chance on buying one. I have to say I'm not disappointed, this phone has everything I need & with a good battery life too. The only minus point would be that the camera does'nt have a flash but as I did'nt buy it to take pictures I'm more than happy.Read full review...
