Sony DSC-WX9 16.2Mp camera

This camera takes excellent pictures for me. I am not commenting on the Optics or anything else. Because I am not an expert on this subject. However in a side-by-side comparison to a similar Nikon camera the Sony takes better indoor pictures. According to Sony, their cameras like this one with exmor CMOS sensor take better low light level pictures.
I agree. !

Sony WX9

This Camera makes not so great photos. Get an old sensor but this is normal for this model.
The Video quality is absolutely great. Films with 60 fps.

Great value, Good Features, Take some getting used to with the wheel.

Well, I bought this camera because I read online it was one of the best cameras point and shoot cameras of 2011. And the reviewers and critics werent lying. It has great photo quality. And it takes burst photos which is a great feature that takes many shots of a subject and you go back to view the photos and move the camera as if it was a flipbook. It takes great video quality as well. The layout, presentation, zoom in and zoom out button and little wheel to adjust the camera seetings takes some getting used to especially if you have large fingers. But this camera its better than the old Olympus FE-4030 I had. It was a piece of crap compared to the Sony Cybershot. If anybody wants to get a good affordable point and shoot camera. I strongly recommend the Sony Cybershot series.Read full review...

This is a good camera

I like this camera it takes good pictures & videos. I like the fact that unlike allot of cyber shot cameras you can zoom in on video mode. Also it takes 3D pictures but I have had a chance to view them in 3D. On the down side it doesn't shoot in the various modes like Black & White Sepia etc. Also I don't know if it's a defect of this model or the previous owner broke something in it because the camera keeps draining the battery even when I haven't used it. So now I just pop the battery in when I get ready to use it.Read full review...

Great little camera

I learned that I had already purchased a new one for my wife a few years ago. Age includes forgetfulness. I'm on a trip with this new camera now. It would be a better deal if it included the battery charger. Fortunately, I can use my wife's. No problems so far. Great little camera.Read full review...

Overall its a great point and shoot camera for the price.

The photo quality of this camera is great. It matches up to some of the entry-mid level DSLR systems out there. Even though this is a point and shoot camera, the Zeiss lens Sony uses for their point and shoot cameras are not just a logo, there is a true difference when you compare to some of Canon's point and shoot (non-Zeiss lens), the photo does not curve even slightly on the edges and the color is very brilliant. The video function shoots crystal clear videos.
I also love the fact that you no longer need a separate battery charger. It uses the USB cable to charge and also comes with an AC adapter.
The only cons I have with this camera which is typical with most point and shoot cameras is the fact that the battery could last longer and the camera could be a little faster. But overall it a great camera for the price.

In its class - this camera is above the competition

I already own a Nikon Coolpix P100 and was planning on buying another smaller Nikon to carry around when I don't want to lug the bigger camera, but the picture quality in the smaller cameras did not measure up. So I opted for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC WX9 16.2 mp digital camera because when I tested in stores, I love how beautiful the pictures came out. I like how light (weight) it is and that it takes great pictures like the bigger cameras. It also works fairly well in low light conditions (even in candle-light dinners) although you can't expect that it comes out too clear if the environment is dark. I can say it performs better than the average cameras in its class.Read full review...

Awesome Camera for the money

This was the 2nd Sony DSC-WX9 camera as the first one got dropped and lens would not retract. My wife liked the WX9 so much she needed a replacement. This camera takes great pictures and video and for the money is hard to beat. Camera is small and compact and easy to use. The one downside I have with this camera is that it is too easy to activate the multi-shot option.Read full review...

A good buy if the price is right.

Great little camera - when it works properly. Sony crammed a lot of pluses into this one but perhaps too many. It can be overly sensitive in its controls, etc.
