This has everything I want in a compact easy to carry around camera.
I like the fact that I don't need to carry around several lenses. with the 30X optical, and double that with the electronic zoom, I can cover most of my needs with the G lens.
I love the fact that it has internet apps available, especially the time lapse mode. This gives the camera versatility and who knows what other cool apps might come out in the future.
I really like the different shooting modes, I am not a great photographer, but with some of the intelligent features working for me, this camera can make it look like I know what I am doing.

It's a good camera if you don't care about image quality.
You gotta hand it to sony, they do make good cameras. But something this specific model lacks is half decent image quality. I was skeptical when I read people's reviews on this camera and they said "my phone takes sharper photos", but they weren't kidding. My iPhone literally takes sharper photos. Other than that, it's a pretty good camera. Easy to use, lots of features(the 30X zoom is pretty good for wildlife photos). However, if you can buy the newer models(HX80 or HX90), do it. I've found not having a viewfinder when you're trying to take photos of something distant is a huge pain in the buttox. Having a viewfinder is so helpful. Just trust me on that one :P
Overall, it's decent, except for the image quality. Which if you don't mind, then there you go; This would be a decent camera for you. But for someone like me whose used an RX100 for several years, this camera's lack of image quality was a no-go for me.Read full review...
