Very good FTA receiver choice and less expensive than its rivals!

This receiver was as easy to program as the Viewsat Ultra that I bought 2 years ago. I have only half as much invested in the SV premier with svlan than I have into the VS ultra with the weather forecaster. It may be SD only but produces a crisp, quality picture. The only real trick to setting it up is you have to switch a network setting (from static to DHCP) plus enter the serial number of the svlan, but if you have set up another receiver before it is pretty self explanatory. I am very pleased with this unit. For only $140 (receiver/svlan combo) at the time I composed this review, I certainly wasn't disappointed :)Read full review...

Sonic veiw

I believe the receivers description was worded poorly. I had a false impression of it's capabilities. I read it as if, the receiver was able to receive a digital satellite signal. Unfortunately, it does not!
I would appreciate it if someone would/could explain to me, how to configure this particular receiver so it will use a digital signal.

The team is not working properly, you can only view the free channels, does not open the encrypted canlaes ... eye this product is good for Venezuela ..... were made for any amount of evidence to update to see encrypted channels ... and the conclusion is that this wine sonicview damaged ... is unfortunate for me because I lost my dollars ..... the seller has to prove this equipment before selling it ... Greetings I hope will be of assistance to Venezuelans who want to buy this computer ...
El equipò no funciona correctamente, solo se pueden ver los canales libres, no abre los canlaes encriptados... ojo este producto no sirve para venezuela..... se le hicieron cualquier cantidad de pruebas para que actualizara para poder ver los canales encriptados... y la conclucion es que este sonicview vino dañado... es lamentable para mi porque perdi mis dolares..... el vendedor tiene que probar este equipo antes de venderlo... saludos espero que le sirva de ayuda a los venezolanos que deseen comprar este equipo...Read full review...

Below Average Viewing Pleasure

1)Fuzzy screen resolution in all aspect ratios.
2)PVR feature has serious issues. Does not perform as stated. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
3)Good music and photo file support.
4)Good 333Mhz processor and 512MB internal SDRAM.
5)Better units exist in the same price range.
6)Can be purchased cheaper & without tax charges out of state of Florida
7)Beware of $15.00 "restocking fee" not mentioned at time of sale if you decide to return the item.Read full review...

excellent receiver, many features and priced right. set up was fairly easy and overall im extremely pleased. unit also has a built in dv-r. when i decide to go hi-def later ill more then likely also go with a sonicview HD receiver.Read full review...

I will feel better if and when I get it probramed

1. The universal remote is old and does not have Vizio brand at all.
2. The receiver will need to be programed. Most computers now a days do not have a rs232 port so you you will have to buy a db9 rs232 to usb adaptor.
3. The manual does not have any customer service number or address.
