Sleep Now, Quiet Forest - Todesbonden

I had listened to samples of this album on their MySpace page many times. I'm not sure there was any detail that tipped the balance from listening to buying the entire album, but now that I have the entire album I'm immensely glad that I purchased. I really enjoy their music and I'll say its the Symphonic Metal qualities. There some music cuts that are quiet and reserved and you can enjoy the quality of Laurie's voice and other cuts that really have some metal/rock energy to them. To me this is similar to Epica's music. I must say the contrast between the guitars/drums/keyboards (piano) and their violin player is most evident in the track 'Trianon' and I find that this is my favorite track. I guess that this is what I find enjoyable about Symphonic Metal -- The contrast between symphonic elements and metal elements of the music. Their music fits right into what I like. I like Laurie's voice and it fits well with the music. In my opinion its not as high as some other soprano women led metal bands and I find her voice more enjoyable to listen to. I hope someday I can see them in concert. I should have made the trip to the Flight of the Valkyries festival, but that is in the past now.
