If you need lots of disk space, this fast drive can do the job.

Big. Fast. Reliable. Cost-effective.

I use this drive to store HD video taken with a Sony HD camcorder. The footage is then used to make Blu-ray disk projects. The USB 3.0 interface makes transfers as quick as possible when dealing with 20Gb+ file sizes. Primary use is for storage, not day-to-day file usage so this drive is perfect.

There is a back-up application included with the drive but I do not plan to use it. I copy files from another drive using drag-and-drop in Windows Explorer. Every now and then I plug in this drive to copy something to it or from it so it does not have to take a pounding from every day use.

Disk space is like closet space: no matter how much you have, you will fill it up sooner rather than later! With this drive, you may be able to make it later rather than sooner. I would always like to acquire a cheaper and bigger drive, so no perfect 5-star rating. This is my 4th Seagate external drive. Big Storage, Small Price

I wanted a new hard drive because my other one was making funny noises, and I am very happy with the Seagate GoFlex. I loaded over 40,000 high def pictures onto it and still have 2.7 TB left! It is very quiet and much smaller than I expected. I wouldn't call it a portable HD, but it could be used as one in a pinch. I have used it for both Mac and PC and it works seamlessly. I haven't needed the USB 3.0 yet, but it's nice to have that option because I just got a HD camcorder.Read full review...

The best, only the best

This is one of the best hard drives ever. High capacity, fast transfer, easy to use. No problems at all. This is one of the best products I have ever use. I would really recommendthis product.

Overall, I'm happy with it

This product is easy to use, fast and huge capacity and auto hibernate. The only issue is that i cannot eject it. But overall Seagate's reputation for quality and reliability seem well deserved.

Highly Recommend this Drive - Using it as a video server

This was one of our best purchases for the price. Very reliable and a real space saver. I am using this drive as a video server and it keeps up just fine. I am running the USB3 port as well giving our wireless server plenty of performance headroom for multiple accesses.
