This unit is not only atracktive but proform beautifully. It is very easy to hook up, just power and usb. I bought this product for personal files at work. It has been very reliable for more than 2 years.

The issue came when I upgraded from XP to Win 7. Basically the Encryption Folder completely disappeared. Online help was no help. I logged a case to get the special software with encryption. Within 24 hours they sent me a link. That didn't fix the problem. I had to call Tech Support and it was a simple case of showing hidden files from the Win 7 Folder Options. This so easily could have been in their Knowledge Base. The rep even heard of this before, so it wasn't like I was the only one.
All in all problem solved, but it would have been nice to have done this all in 5 minutes on the web.Read full review...
Highly Recomend this hard drive, for Home use. IT GETS THE JOB DONE
This Product is just what I needed. despite its' speed, the hard drive does it's job. I have a computer that has USB 1.0 Slots, so the speed in which i transfer in is not the drive's fault. Great service and equipment
Hard drive arrived about 4 weeks ago after a slow start due to a bad sector at the beginning of the drive the drive has worked great. The size of the drive is just right but may need to be larger as time goes on.Read full review...
Seagate 500gb external hard drive
What's to say about a hard drive except that I really enjoy the peace of mind that it delivers knowing that if I have sensitive documents, I can isolate it from the computer while surfing the net. Also, it is good to know that if my computer crashes, I will always have my documents which can be accessed through any other computer.Read full review...

I bought this hard drive because I didn't want to take up room on my laptop with music and movies. It was a great buy it stores most of my media and doesn't take up much room on my desk.

It does the job in good order. Seagate is a good name brand.
It's a storage unit. So far, so good. I'm using it now. The mount is attached. It stands no problem. I'd like for it to be lightning fast, but that technology changed. Seagate are good drives. this is a older version but works just fine. Backed up my Whole hard drive with no problem,
Newer models do NOT require a power supply.
