the value proposition here is excellent

I bought this printer for my grandson and we were not disappointed.
It is easy to install and easy to use. It prints duplex (both sides of the page), has NFC for use with a tablet or cell phone, wired and wireless Ethernet and USB.
Printing is high quality with high contrast - as good as any HP I have ever used.
The one we purchased, although not strictly new, looked like it out of the box and runs flawlessly. We haven't owned it long enough, but if it prints 700 pages from one toner cartridge, that will last a long time for the intended use.
Downsides: Driver install on a pc takes forever
The first page after sleep takes quite a while to print.
Net: this is a great value in printer technology. If you want black and white printing at a reasonable cost with great quality, there is no reason for ink-jet any more; buy this unit and print away.Read full review...

Total junk to me the door won't latch and the printer won't work unless the door is closed.

It is very cheaply made the plastic on the top was warped and the latch would not hold it closed. It needs to be better made before I would ever purchase another Samsung, This is a low-cost machine so what did I expect? Maybe the same quality as the HP printer that replaced it.Read full review...

Fast Printer + Excellent Print Quality

I own two of these. Bought one retail and loved it so bought another one at a great price on eBay. With a cost of well under a hundred bucks, it's truly a bargain. Plus, third party supplies are readily available for the M2830 so the savings keep piling up. One other important feature, this printer doesn't blow the toner spent fuse. It just lets you keep printing. And that's exactly what I do until the background in gray-scale images becomes too dark. Then I swap out the toner cartridge. The Samsung driver software has warned me that I've gone 40% over the spent cartridge level. That may have been too much. Maybe I should have stopped at 30%. :)

My primary printers have been Epson ink jets. Because I print a lot, but sporadically the ink jets have been problematic. I tried one of these small, auto-duplexing Samsung printers and immediately realized this is something I should have done a long, long time ago. This is a monochrome printer. Many of my prints don't need color, and this M2830 fits the bill perfectly. It's amazingly quiet for as fast as it is.

Bargain of the century

Well Worth the Price

Love the printer. Works much better the HP printer for the network that I had before. It doesn't need to have the router rebooted every time the printer is powered for any reason. Also it doesn't sit there and demand that you put an expensive cartridge made by HP in the printer before it'll work properly. Would recommend to anyone who needs a good General quality laser printer. The built-in duplex makes the printer very economical for use along with the separate toner cartridge versus the toner/drum cartridge of other units.Read full review...
