Running low on disk space?

If you are someone who, like myself, stores media files (dvd movies, music files, pictures, etc) on your computer, you are bound to reach a point where you start running out of disk space. This is a bad thing, because it means that you will be constantly worried about not having enough room to download that song you like or uplooad those new pictures from your camera. Here is something you can do to help ward off the 'running low on disk space' blues...
Do what I did: After tiring of deciding which files to delete, I decided to invest in a larger capacity hard drive. It was one of the best moves I've made regarding upgrades to my computer and I paid a lot less money than I thought I would. After doing some shopping around on E-bay, I went with the Samsung HD103UJ, which is a SATA drive. And for well under a hundred bucks (under 90, actually) I got a brand new high quality 1TB capacity hard drive. By the way, one TB translates out to one THOUSAND gigs, and is four times the size of the hard drive I bought just a couple years back, for the same amount of money.
This is the hard drive that I would recommend to anyone (even someone I love) who has a computer that is set up for SATA- and that probably includes most of the desktop PC'a sold in the last couple years. Samsung is a name that has been around for quite awhile in the consumer electronics world and are fairly well established as a manufacturer of quality components of all kinds. And in this case, I installed the drive into my computer, connected the sata cable (this took all of 5 minutes), and have not had one single problem of any kind... just tons of more hard drive space.
I am so well satisfied with my Samsung hard drive that I decided to write a review, for the first time in my life. I'm the kind of person that 'calls 'em like I see 'em', and the bottom line is this: if you want a high quality, high capacity hard drive that is hassle free- all for a surprisingly low price, then you will find what you are looking for with the Samsung HD 103UJ one TB SATA hard drive. I know I did.

Excellent Drive for Incremental Backups or Storage!

This Samsung Spinpoint 1TB SATA II drive is great - it's built with quality and high performance. It's also very quiet, and doesn't generate a whole lot of heat (compared to some rivals). I use it in my media server as a media storage drive - it houses all of my videos and streams perfectly to any room in my house. This drive has great random access times, and I haven't had any problems with it. I highly recommend this drive to anyone looking for a modestly older, inexpensive alternative to the brand new drives that cost double and give you the same 1TB of storage. It's not a 10,000RPM Raptor, but then again it's not meant to be. 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up!Read full review...

Good Harddrive

This is a really good hard drive. This is a 1tb but as you well know that memory storage is measure by 1000mb for a gigabyte. An actual gb is 1024mb. So this hard drive comes out to around 931 actual gigabytes. Excellent dollar per gb. Reads and writes really well and fast. Sata II interface. Which is a pro. Good "Green" feature; the hard drive will power down after so long when idle. This hard drive is quiet as a mouse. Good choice.Read full review...

Recommend this hard drive for it's space & easy install

This works great with my Dell. I used it to back-up my primary drive. Slid right in the case and was easy to install and partition. I prefer SATA to IDE there's no pins to move just two cables to plug in and you're good to go.Read full review...

Great price for solid, older HDD

Using these HDD in a NAS / home backup server. Working well so far -- the true test of a HDD is how long it lasts! But they are find in a RAID-1 config right now. Running a lubuntu server on older hardware. Probably will use rsync or rdiff-backup to backup my machines.Read full review...

F1 1 TB SATA2 hard drive

I purchased 3 of these purely for the great price. Took a bit of a risk because they where "reconditioned". So far, these drives have been perfect. On windows XP, I get about 936 gigs free after format. Just shy of the TB as spec'ed, this is very normal for ntfs drives.

Drive is quite, simple to use, and plenty fast, and very large.

I have not used Samsung drives up to this point, but so far, I like it.

Drive works great, very easy to install.

No problems installing or having it recognized by system. Relatively quite as well. Formatted quickly and has very good seek and scan speed.

I've built a few desktop computers, and usually had some problem with the hard drive installation, but with this hard dive there was no problem with installation. This is a fast easy to set up and an awesome drive. Would buy another in an instant.Read full review...
