Best phone for the buck! No bills... Tech support sucks tho!!
The phone is great, I have no real complaints. The issue is with Net10, their customer service is a joke! All outsourced tech support that can hardly speak english, be prepared to spend 20min on the phone fixing simple problems and over an hour trying to troubleshoot harder ones.
I've had this model phone for 6 yrs, it's survived all manner of abuse, from the toilet to the dryer, finally died when I ran over it in the car. Replaced it with the exact same model because it's the best deal for a pre-pay phone hands down. The only feature that I don't like is you can't see who is sending a text unless you open it first. Another is the battery cover does not secure well, often slides off by itself. All the features are basic compared to smart phones but what it lacks in glitter it makes up for w/$. On a pre-pay plan I can get down to @ $10 a month or less... Thats if you can live without browsing, web access on this phone is a waste of time!Read full review...
Great phone for texting & talk, NOT for internet
Pros: Phone is very durable. I have had this exact phone for 5 years now and am only ordering it again because the charger/headphone port wore out from use. I have dropped it countless times and it always survived unscathed. The phone is an excellent basic all around phone and the keyboard is excellent for texting. Battery life is good. Works pretty well as a music player although you do not have the option of fast forward or rewind.
Cons: Net10's internet option is HORRIBLE. Even loading the most basic sites like time & date takes FOREVER. Sometimes 10 minutes to check sports scores on Yahoo. Don't even try loading any multimedia. This is NOT an internet phone. Also the 411 is INFURIATING. It is all computerized voice recognition prompts and it never understands what you are trying to find. I have tried it about 5 times and every time ended in failure. This is not a phone for people looking to do anything but the absolute most basic things on the net.... and you are losing minute after minute while the phone slowly loads basic webpages. Reliable at making phone calls.
Surfs the net - News, reading, email check.
Price is terrific.
Can play MP3s.
Cons: No Adobe Reader, or any other application can be
downloaded on this phone. NET10 blocks JAVA on
the internet. Very tiny "brain" (RAM). Not a
phone for professionals on the go.
I'll say that if your expectations for a phone are to make
phone calls, text, look at news and articles, and listen to MP3s once in a while, then the phone may fit you. It works for me!Read full review...
Surprising amount of features for a very low price!
This is one of the best deals out there. I went from paying $65+ a month for AT&T's overpriced service to about $30 every TWO months with Net10. This phone has not only saved me tons of money, but has a surprising amount of features for its low price.
A web browser, MP3 Player (+ speaker), text messaging, slide-out keyboard, and lots more are loaded on this phone. Battery life is usually about a week between charges, probably less if you talk a lot but I typically text. This puppy also survived more than a few drops and is still going strong. This SamsungT401g was a good buy, & I'm very happy with it.
This is my first Samsung phone, and I am delighted with it. The battery life is great, and it is much easier to see the display (larger size) than my previous cell. It wouldn't interface with the Plantronics Blue Tooth I have, but I have already ordered a handsfree set, and so it didn't matter to me. The camera lense doesn't have a cover, so I'll have to be careful not to scratch it. However,I do like the feel of it and the way the qwerty slides out. Nothing "cheap" about this phone! Probably the most full feaured non-smart phone out there.
The 401G is about as full featured as a non-smart phone can get: camera, short videos, messages to and from an email address, capture calls to contact list, speed dialing, limited speaker phone, usable keyboard, mp3 player, short message recorder.
My only complaint is that you can only turn speaker phone on when making a call, and then only during a short window.

Terrific phone for the price,, Customer service is top tier.
I Love this phone for Its simplicity, and ease of use,,, Yet at the same time for all ways to personalize it. Has a great speaker,, a bright screen, very long standby time, The built in keyboard makes it very easy to send text messages.
Others have complained about Net10 customer service. Well My experience with them was great. They were at all times friendly, and informative. My phone would not self initialize, so off to customer service for me,, The first rep. went through all of her protocols and then connected me to more advanced procedures. The new Rep. determined that my phone would not work on Verizon's piggyback service for my area. New AT&T Sim card was sent out (2 days to ship)... Installed new sim card and spent 15 more min. with customer service to initialize Sim card and phone. The only negative would be the camera,, at only 1.3 mp, it's a little on the fuzzy side. Phone is very good; Net10 not so good.
The phone itself is a very good value. Easy to use, though for some of the more advanced features you need the user manual which is available free online. Clear sound, great photos, many features. etc. No complaints there. My problem was with Net10. I transferred my old phone number and minutes, but then could not make or receive calls. Ended up spending about 6 hours+ on 3 separate occasions, including tech staff, supervisor and manager to get things working. Most of the tech staff is very difficult to understand - thick accent and most are radically incompetent. Ended up getting a new SIM card, which I probably did not need had they known what to do. Staff also not well informed, giving contradictory answers. Net10s internal system is not great and requires a lot of fiddling and duplication.
You can get the phone and be happy with it, but be prepared for some very frustrating interactions.Read full review...

I purchased this Samsung slider phone for the qwerty keyboard for texting, very quick and easy. Reliable. The images on the screen are crisp and clear. I liked the additional feature for storage with an sd card so I could use my own photos and music stored on the card. Easy to use camera and store on the sd card as well. Many user option features work perfectly. It is the best phone in its class for a pre-paid phone. Very satisfying and reasonably priced, especially compared to the $400+ versions! net 10 cell phone
this is a great cell i like it cause its got a key pad and its big enought u can hit the right keys and not spell god only nos.... its lite weight , loud tones so u can hear it , over all if ya just want a simple little cell for the bucks this is the one plus i made them honor the 3 cents a text and 10 cents a min call . u can buy u a min card put it n and bingo u r ready to go ... only 1 down side when i call to get it on it will take bout 1 hr they r over seas and they dont talk very good english !!!! it is also very easy to use your on contacts and call and bingo u r talking to them ... great cell to have ..Read full review...
