Great, but not Samsing's best design

It's a really nice phone, as are all of Samsung's products. I was, however, disappointed by the functionality of the slider. The front and sides are completely smooth, making it difficult to quickly flick it open and shut (unlike the SGH-A737 which sports a ridge across the face to facilitate smooth sliding). Also, the battery cover was exceedingly difficult to remove-- Good for the phone's protection and durability, but slightly inconvenient for when you need to change the battery or SIM card.

Overall, it's an excellent choice. Durable, long-lasting battery, etc. The camera is 1.3 megapixels and the photos look fantastic when transferred to computer via the phone's Bluetooth capabilities (not to mention all the other wonderful advantages of Bluetooth technology). Cool 'phone, lots of new things to learn.

I'm really enjoying this phone. All I had to do to change to my cell phone provider was change the SIM card. It's a little hard to figure out some of things that it does without an instruction book, but I'm doing better. I wanted a phone with a camera, so I picked this one. I had to get an adapter so that my SIM card would work in my new computer, but the pictures are good. This is my first experience with a cellphone with a camera, so I have nothing to compare it to.Read full review...

lots of function in a small package

If you are not into all that smartphone/internet stuff and just want to call and text,and listen to your music, this is a great little phone. Fits easily into your pocket, good sound, nice features. Easy to text. Takes pretty good pictures for its size and holds an whole 8G SD card to make it a great little MP3 player. I'll take it any day over those monster iPhones.Read full review...

Beautiful phone, works great!

The phone had no scratches or dirt on it and powered up immediately when I turned it on. Reception is great. Easy to use. Volume is okay. Numbers are big and easy to press. It would be nice if the viewing screen were larger, but then the phone would probably be too bulky, so sometimes you need to be content with things the way they are because they might be that way for a reason. Overall, the phone I received was in excellent condition and works like a charm with no problems and all for a reasonable price.Read full review...

awesome product!!!!! Great value for money no doubt about it!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I got these phones together. my boy loves his because he is Mr technology. I was very worried because I'm very ruff on things and managed to kill my blackberry after a month among other things that require care. I've dropped the phone countless times but the real test was when it got tangled in the blankets. I flipped the blankets throwing the phone across the room right into the cats water dish (of all places it could have landed and my with my luck). I pulled it right away and to be surprise that it was fine. no problems with my screen or the buttons(it was slid shut hitting the water) the sim card and extra memory card not affected by the water. I seems to be water proof. If we could talk in water this would be the phone to buy. plus it is a cool phone even for you non-tech people like me. Looking to buy another for back-up love it that much. and great for kids , very durable with easy to read manual.Read full review...

Avoid this phone

I am extremely disappointed in this phone. I "upgraded" to the a777 from the a707, which is an excellent phone, I have owned 2 of them. Unfortunately the a777 doesn't meet the high quality I've come to expect from Samsung phones.

First, battery life is terrible. If you do any texting at all, or routinely use the speakerphone on calls, which I do because I'm hard of hearing, the battery life is extremely short.
Second, the keyboard is somewhat slick and the keys are spaced very close together so it's hard to text just by feeling the position of the keys, you have to actually look at the keys when you're texting. The phone is small and not ergonomically shaped at all so texting cramps the hand.
Third, the slider mechanism of the keyboard becomes loose rather quickly.

It is nice that the phone has XM radio capability and nice music features but this really doesn't matter due to the short life of the battery. I'd love to be able to listen to music on it at work but the battery dies too fast.

Overall a great disappointment from Samsung. Think carefully before you fork out extortion money to AT&T for this phone.Read full review...

Great cell phone

the phone is very easy to figure out.. lots of capapbilities..it takes really great pictures. fits in your pockets easily, great colors available ,nice size screen

Great Phone!

I bought this phone because I had one that was identical from At&T as part of a promotion but after a few months the screen started to leak. I contacted At&t but they claimed it was my fault without even looking at the device. I went to a consumer page and found that sometimes the screen leaks for no reason, defective. This doesn't happen very often, but does once in a while. I contacted Samsung and they sent me an envolope to send the phone to them. They fixed it at absolutely no charge. The reason I bought another was in case they would not fix the first one free. You see, I like this phone for the ease of use and style so much that I wasn't worried it might happen again. Now I'm satisfied that Samsung not only has great phones, but has great customer service too.Read full review...

Works perfectly

Love the design, easy to use, simple phone, love the blue color, and it works perfectly. I bought this for my husband to replace a smart phone that was not working properly and it didn't seem to mind one bit. The guy gave us a really good deal and even credited 3.95 for a new charger. Charger had tape on it so therefore it was not as described. But, it made it right.Read full review...
