4K Video
This unit is simply fantastic! When I first got my UHD TV there was only a few ways to get content. This unit is simple and extremely good. I wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

Another Not so great Samsung product
Product
The switch for the dvd door is flaky. Usually takes 4 or 5 presses
The HDMI output only handles the dvd. The vcr requires component cables. (low res)
The input from the satellite box is only component cables. (low res)
Nice design Samsung- Instead of one hdmi in and one out, it looks like the serpent pit at the zoo. Maybe it was designed before HDMI- oops there's 1 hdmi out connector
The system is supposed to be anynet compliant, but isn't. It should switch source when a dvd is loaded but it requires 3 controllers to operate the system. That's with an anynet samsung tv and the combo unit. It required a manual setup even though it is supposed to be anynet compliant
I wonder if the power supply has 10 volt capacitors in a 14 volt circuit like the samsung tv that died 2 weeks after the warranty was up. Shame on me for sticking with Samsung
The net video on a 1080p set reminds me of a 1950's rca victor console, except it's color

Fine VCR/DVD Combo!
I found this model at my local Ditto's Thrift Store for $4. It even had the Remote. The probable reason why it was only $4 was because they claimed the DVD player didn't work. I bought it anyway because I like messing with combo units. I brought it home, hooked it up, and popped a DVD in the unit. It picked up the disc, but it wouldn't play. I noticed when I ejected the disc, the tray was very dusty. I then proceeded to open up the unit and remove the DVD drive to clean. I first brushed off the loose dust with a saucing brush ( it's used to apply sauces on meat products ) and used a can of compressed air to get rid of the more stuck on dust. After that, I got a bottle of 90% isopropyl alcohol and a box of q-tips. I dipped a q-tip in the alcohol and gently brushed the surface of the optical laser. Finally, I put the unit back together. The DVD player worked flawlessly after that! I was very happy. I saved a bunch of money.Read full review...

Good DVD/VCR combo
Its a great little piece of equipment. The VCR works better than most other types of VCR's. The DVD player isn't Blu-Ray, but it still has a good picture. I had a small problem with the HDMI audio. After reseting the unit, everything worked just fine. BEWARE...there are no coxial hookups on this model. It only has RCA(Component), Composite, S-Video, and HDMI(DVD only). I'm very happy with my purchase. The one I bought is black and goes well with the other components I have in my small home theater system. If your on a tight budget and want a DVD/VCR combo, this is the one to get.Read full review...
Samsung DVD-V9800 DVD Player / VCR Combo - Very Good
I was quite surprised at how good this combo player was for such a low price. The VCR's picture recorded at a slow speed was quite impressive. The style is a bit "boxy" but it really does the job. There are only a few minor complaints but they are hardly worth mentioning. When you press menu or when you press the option to record, it may take a few seconds before you can enter what you want. Also, after you turn on the machine, you need to wait several seconds before you press the menu botton or it will tell you to wait and try again. Like I said, these are minor complaints and I am quite satisfied with my purchase.Read full review...

Awesome player
This player looks brand new. The price was incredible. Better than far more used devices and far better than hundreds for a new player. Got it just a few days after the purchase which was also great.

Samsung combo DVD VHS player
The DVD plays very well but the VHS does not play at all the power button is damaged for powering on and off the left hand side where the power button is located under the bottom was broken off but other words it's a pretty good player to get the VHS to work then I would have to get it repaired for $44 that was not worth itRead full review...

Tech jumps from Tape
Nice unit if you need to transfer UHS VCR tape to digital, but the digital DVD does not record, so you will need a converter to go from RCA input to USB output and record it to MP4 with software that comes with the converter.Read full review...

Samsung DVD-V9800 DVD Player / VCR Combo
This is a good DVD/VCR combo for someone that wants Full HD from DVD's, and still has some VHS's they watch from time to time. The upscaling DVD function is great with a HDMI cable, its very crisp and clear, you really can't get much clearer without buying blue-ray. The VCR uses uses your standard Audio/Video jacks so the quality on it won't blow you away but it seems to be of good quality. I love samsung's product's I've used them for years and never had a problem. Great quality product for a great price.Read full review...
