Finally have ad blu ray player that works with older tvs!

Unfortunately I have a older big screen at home that I love but have a hard time finding accessories for since it does not have hdmi inputs.

This blue ray player had composite, rca, and hdmi outputs so it works for all tvs!

It's easy to use and I'm truly liking it !

Too slow and unreliable

The player doesn't play 98% of the bluray DVDs I own. The few that does play, plays only after several attempts.
And when it does play, the menus and extremely slow to popup. When I traverse through the menu using the remote, the system reacts very slowly.

This player is just money down the drain.

good solution for blu-ray, netflix and USB-stored video

What I like about this machine is that it connects wirelessly to 2.4Ghz-N, it connects to Netflix and it does a good job playing content. I haven't used the Blu-Ray function, so I can't comment on its performance, but the rest of the machines functions work well.

What a don't like about the machine is that the remote isn't as responsive as I would like. You really have to push those buttons. Perhaps I need to change the batteries, I haven't tried that. Maybe it's just my remote, that's very possible.

Sometimes Netflix will slow or even stop, but that probably has more to do with bandwidth than it does the players functionality. On the forums, people say that the player doesn't utilize their networks speed efficiently, so that is also possible. Something to be aware of either way.

Firmware updates are effortless, it does it automatically through the internet if you have it set-up for that.

I especially like being able to play movie files from USB external devices, such as a flash drive or external hard drives.

Overall, it's a great all-in-one solution, especially when connected to other Samsung devices which utilize the Anynet+ interface that allows control with one remote.

Nice Blu-Ray Player, but hard to get internet on

I like the DVD player. It is nice and easy to use. But I also don't like it because when you try to get internet on it. It is really hard. I brought a wireless broadband router. I brought the broadband router because I thought that when you buy it, it will let you get internet on the wireless router. I want internet on it so I can stream movies on netflix or blockbuster. I know that when you got a wireless router you can get internet on devices. Such as a Nintendo DSI or a Sony PSP. Other than that it is a terrific Blu-Ray DVD player. I brought the DVD player because my old boke. I couldn't open the disk drive. So that is why I brought the Blu-Ray DVD player.Read full review...

very good player

I read some of the reviews for this player and my main issue was its ability to be able to play my disks I have burned using nero which were mainly several movies in avi format. I have had issues in the past with some players (not blue ray) which could not handle playing those movies because of issues with codecs. | bought this unit because it said it could update firmware and codecs and it lived up to its specs because the first thing it did was to do a software update as soon as I got it connected to the internet. There is some difficulty there in getting it to use the wireless but no more than hooking up a wireless printer.
After it got on line and updated to the latest firmware I tested it on my dvds and it had no problem reading them and playing them, I am sure in some cases it upconverts the video to a better resolution. I am using a Sanyo 42" tv which I bought only a couple of weeks before buying the player.
My only issue was using the player to read and play videos off my computer. It is a long process to get the software to make a playlist or whatever it calls it so the player can access the movies. It took several tries to make it work right and since I had a large directory of items I wanted to show on the tv, it took several hours for it to make up the list. After that, most of the videos I had wanted to play did work. Some were not available to play and I am not sure why, but it is probably the format used to make them etc.
It is not as easy to use that feature but in using it as a normal use as a player I do not find any shortcomings yet. I have not watched a blueray disk on it yet but find it does a great job with my older dvds.

Audio Out

I needed a player that had analog audio outputs. My HiFi equipment is from the mid to late 70's era. All of the newer players that I can afford are HDMI or digital coax for audio. It works for me. Also plays CD's well.Read full review...

This blu ray player streams wi-fi flawlessly....

The Samsung BD-C6500 is hands down, the best device that I own that streams network apps such as Netflix and Pandora. I recently paid 60 dollars for x-box live gold to stream Netflix. I even purchased an N - Adapter and router. With all of these upgrades, My XBOX 360 still does NOT stream like this blu ray player. The only disadvantage is that I can only access movies that are saved into my account whereas with XBOX, I have more options...just a minor detail. THIS DEVICE STREAMS IN HD....I would think that you would upgrade your wireless router to an "N" so that you can have the bandwitth to stream HD.

This player loads a blu-ray movie in approximately 10-15 seconds flat. This is a significant improvement from my Sony BDP-S300, which took more than a minute to load, then would occassionally lock up. This device is awesome.

I will eventually configure Facebook and other websites that i will use (Pandora is recommended). I would recommend that you purchase a logitech remote which is effective for switching all of your inputs at a touch of a button.

From the time you pull this device from the box, you will find it simple to set up. You would have to be a complete moron to not understand how to configure this device. Anywho, if you have problems, it will walk you through the setup. Do yourself a favor and configure it to the internet, either through an ethernet connection or wifi (remember, wireless N will give you the best streaming results within 80-100 feet depending on how you situate your antenna). I could write all day about this device. Please do not hesitate to purchase this puppy. I brought it new in the box on EBAY from a gracious seller at 150 Dollars US. I hope that this review serves the purpose of what it is intended...to educate skeptical buyers....Peace!

Do your research...this is a geat blu-ray player!

i like to keep my electronics in the same family (all Samsung, all Sony, etc...), so when i bought my Samsung UNB406000 LED tv,i had to find the best Samsung blu-ray player to match. I did a lot of research, and found the BD-C6500. it had tons of great reviews. firstly, i like the stylish sleek, yet simple, look. the functions (eject, stop, play, pause, on/off) in the front are actually sensor technology. you just run your finger over it to access the function.
i think the pic quality is great, and you have the option of using bd-live (which is supposed to give you the best pic quality) or manually fixing your pic to your taste. i still cant decide which i like using yet (although, i do change settings..cant help it! lol). with the settings on this blu-ray and on your tv, there's more than enough setting to fine tune the pic to your taste. i dont use it for up converting regular DVDs, so i cant comment on that. i tried one, and was not impressed with the quality. a lot of reviews say its one of the best for up converting regular DVDs, though. some DVDs take awhile to get started (darn previews), others are quick. its no bother to me, but im sure some will find it annoying. i know it can be used wirelessly, but i like using my Ethernet wired connection. netflix, and vudu hd stream perfectly for me (i have Comcast high-speed internet). the HD streaming on both sites look great. even the non-HD streaming netflix movies looked watchable. also, easy menu to navigate.
this blu-ray player allows the use of some Samsung apps. i know of Facebook, YouTube videos, netflix, vudu, and some others. also, this blu-ray has 1 gb of on-board memory, which is great. the menus are simple to use also. there is also a usb port to load pics, videos, etc.. onto the 1gb hard drive.
i highly recommend this blu-ray player. if you can find a new/used one in excellent condition for $80-$125, BUY IT! i paid $98 for mine used, and it works flawlessly. great buy!

Slow Loader

The Samsung BD-6500 has all the bells and whistles (except 3D and a hard drive). Set up was easy, connecting to the internet was easy. Only flaw, when playing a Blu-Ray this player is NOT FAST. It does have a tendency to freeze up if you pause a disc for more than a couple minutes (then you have to reboot and wait for the disc to load again). However picture and sound quality are excellent (when it's playing).Read full review...

Very pleased!!

Likes - netflix is awesome and totally worth it. Before setting the player up I had read some reviews about netflix being a pain if your router was far away. My wife and I live in a basement and the router is on the 2nd floor. At times we can't get reception, but 4 out of 5 times it works perfect. When it doesn't work I come back to it 10 min. later and it's fine. Setting netflix up was also very easy to do, it's cheap, and there's a pretty good selection of movies to choose from.

Dislikes - Again, I had read a lot of reviews (which I recommend you do) and I had already had my expectations. I heard that the loading time of a dvd/blu-ray dvd was a drag, but 5-10 seconds is not the end of the world. Yeah it's not as fast as the old dvd players but the picture quality is phenomenal and worth it.

Bottom line - if you're a complainer you'll find a few minor things that will cause you to be impatient, and therefore become upset. Don't let these things bother you because this was one of my favorite purchases of the year.
