If you are reading this, you don't like ordinary music. You know that if Derek Bailey was involved, this is something special and unique. So, what is this beast? Neither fish nor fowl, this is an unclassifiable brew of exploration. Derek was an old man at this point, and sadly, as you read this, he is not even with us any more, but he devoted his last decades to encouraging a younger generation of explorers and challenging them to reach even farther out. Shall I recommend that you buy this CD? The mere fact that you are reading this tells me that you are curious. But if you are any sort of neophyte, then no, don't buy this CD, it is very "difficult" music. Otherwise, this CD will not disappoint. This is a solid, clean, work, that is listenable but challenging, hard but soft, ugly but beautiful. This is "late period" Derek Bailey, with very competent and sympathetic support, doing good work.Read full review...
