a nice product for creative makers
This is a nice product for makers; A good display, excellent little keyboard , network built in
(be aware that this is not immediate useful for anything! Look it up for useful projects!)

Portable battery-powered arduino with LCD screen and nice keyboard.
Smart Response XE is easily converted into pocket-sized, battery powered adruino, with generous LCD screen and surprisingly comfortable keyboard.
Arduino libraries and documentation are available on github, and with medium soldering skills it's possible to add several GPIOs, but even without that there are open source projects turning SRXE into a retro-style game console (arduboy), tiny computer for some light coding on the go (BASIC), radio communicator using the built-in antenna (Pocket Enigma), and more.
The hardware was designed for classroom environment and so appears nearly indestructible.
Works about a month on 4 AAA batteries, works equally well on rechargeable batteries.

Retro look and feel sold me!
I have one that I bought from Ted with the Basic already installed. This baby is for programming with the Arduino IDE. (I hope!) This unit is sweet.

cute thingy to hack
I didn't buy these for their intended purpose, but they look like they will be fun to hack. For the money it has a nice display, keyboard and form factory. Very accessible after some googleing.
