Rode NT2A - SImply A Great Recording Microphone
This is my second Rode NT2 Microphone - and I really recommend them. I have many microphones - several Rode Microphones, including the earlier NT2 - and at least 2 other industry standard microphones - to which is compares favorably ( I much prefer it ) to the model it was based on. The original NT2 won in a blind test, with this model being just as good, but a little more versatile. It has very low self noise - it's very sensitive, it's extremely clear and precise and very adaptable. The microphone also has switches for Cardoid, Omnidirectional and Figure 8 configurations, PAD attenuation and low frequency filter options. Simply put - for any vocalist, or anyone who records voices or instruments - this gives great results. Very good value for money too.Read full review...

A worthwhile investment for VoiceOvers.
I ought this because I’d been told that it had a smooth sound. I was not mistaken: the quality of sound is very good. I previously suffered from severe sibilance with both an AT2020USB and a Rode NT3. They were both excellent mics but didn’t suit my voice or room acoustics. Like many, my booth is a collection of duvets and blankets draped on a temporary frame around my desk. The mic is clipped to a shelf over my monitor and I have absorption tiles behind it.
Having the mic offset introduced some boxiness from the wall but moving it to the centre made it sound much cleaner. Such a tiny thing making such a big difference made me realise how important room acoustics and mic placement are.
Since the microphone and stand are so heavy, I will have to review the mounting because I think it will cause the shelf to sag long term.
Further details: inputting to a Scarlett 2i2 and recording via WavePad. Both of these come with full recommendation. Read full review...

Great budget condenser mic
Rode have made consistently good products for years now and this NT2A is no exception. With the switchable polarity, HPF and present sound you get a lot of mic for not much money. Great product for home recording, video making and casting. Well worth the price.Read full review...

Professional's first choice
This is a very versatile mic, and it sounds great to my ears. I use it for acoustic guitar, vocals, mic'ing my amp, percussion etc. It sounds great capturing clean strat sounds on my amp, about 2 inches from the grill. I have also used the multiple patterns for capturing some room reverb (omni) in conjunction with another mic, and the figure 8 pattern for use with another mic to do mid-side recording. Its fun to experiment with.Read full review...
