perfect spigot

I cut the top off a 55 gallon plastic barrel to use to flush my outboard motor that is used in saltwater. I bought this spigot to drain the fresh water from the barrel when I was finished. It is threaded to accept a 5/8" garden hose and I run two old hoses down from the barrel to a low spot in my woods. The spigot can be mounted sideways to make it easier to attach a garden hose. It drains at a good speed while I'm cleaning up the rest of the boat.Read full review...

Brass is boss

Looked far and wide for this exact item in local stores but all they had were plastic kits that were waaaay overpriced... thanks to the good ol inirnet i was able to find a cheap brass valve made to be put in my watering system, just make sure if you install it on a barrel that you find the smoothest surface available to drill your hole.Read full review...

Great valve

Much better quality than my original one on the rain barrel. Fits perfectly. The only complaint is that it is low flow as I’m sure they all are these days. Why would we want a low flow valve on a water barrel?Read full review...

rain barrel valve

Valve works great, no leakage around gasket. Installation on a 55 gallon barrel is tricky. Try soldering a copper wire onto the valve nut. Put the valve threads thru the hole, have a partner fish the nut / wire over the valve threads, tighten the valve & you're set. Read full review...

Very good quality, especially for the price

Good quality, easy to turn, doesn't leak, ball bearing inside is fantastic.

We have a berkey setup at home where we use 6gal brewing buckets in place of their tiny stainless steel containers. We used brewing spigots, but they always broke every 4-8 weeks. Switched to this brass spigot, and now we don't have to worry about that any more.

One (very minor) area of potential improvement is that the milled/machined surface on the back side is very sharp and I managed to cut myself on it slightly. No biggie because once installed that surface is flat up against the bucket anyways, but it was simply something I thought to note. Still 5 stars!

Exactly what I was looking for

Used it to put a drain in thr bottom of a plastic trash can that I use to test run outboard motors. Now i can hook up a garden hose to it and drain the oily water away from my work shop.

So far so good!

Just installed the rainpal brass spigot and so far so good! Its easy to turn on and off 1/4 turn and shoots out an impressive smooth and even stream of rain water.

Good, solid valve

I just installed this small valve and it seems to be of high quality. It is heavy and made of brass. I am not sure, but I think it is made in China as usual. How sad .

Works

Put this on a metal 55 gallon oil drum i am using for rain water. Works perfect and does not leak. Handle is easy to open and close.
