We all are really pleased with this pitcher for our filtering needs

Propur makes an excellent filter and pitcher! No prime needed, easy to assemble and clean. The filters remove/ reduce fluoride, chlorine, pesticides and glyphosates,etc... too much to list it all here..The water tastes pure because it is pure. We had been using the big stainless Propur but I prefer this small clear pitcher. I can see when to refill and the water is fresher as we refill more often. If we wanted to add fruit it has a built in infuser. I like that I can carry the pitcher to the stove or pets water dish. We got the pitcher to hold us over, thinking we needed a fancy RO system at our new home to remove fluoride. This Propur filter works better,is less expensive to buy and operate and we don't need to add minerals back in. We will just forget about RO for now as we all are really pleased with this pitcher for our filtering needs.Read full review...

Filters so water tastes clean

We love how much this filters out of out water. We have a lot of iron and within the 3 filtering we could actually see the orange color of rust on the filter. The water is great and tasteless. It is a little slow to filter but well worth it. Read full review...

AT LAST, CLEAN DRINKING AND COOKING WATER

Like many other people, I've become very concerned with the ongoing raging debate about fluoride compounds (and anything else inimical) in my tap water. After doing my homework, the ProPur system won me over by it's high efficiency and affordability. I had been using another popular pitcher-filter product, but when I found out it didn't remove fluorides, I started looking elsewhere.

My new ProPur both surprised and impressed me right out of the box. It's very well constructed, and the permeable ceramic shelled filter element prep procedure appealed to my inner informed layperson regarding how water can be effectively filtered for maximum safety. In a nutshell, my ProPur does indeed seem to work very much like how water in a deep underground cavern is so thoroughly filtered by natural processes, to a level of clarity that is so complete, cave explorers often don't even see the pool of water they are about to step into.

What I mean by this is that after filtration, the water in the pitcher looks strikingly CLEAN. It's sort of hard to explain, but that's what I noticed about that very first batch of clean water. Liquid diamonds, or something like that, and I was very impressed. And my first very good visual impression was quickly overtaken by how amazing my first glass tasted, and I have to add, how surprisingly good it felt, as I drank the whole glass right down: the water tasted almost indescribably pure, which gave me the definite feeling that Something Bad had been stopped in it's tracks, and that something that used to be just Naturally Good had returned. I think that my mouth and body naturally knew how crucially important uncontaminated water absolutely is to general health.

My previous allusion to how cave explorers often walk right into underground pools of water so absolutely clear that they aren't even aware that they're there is quite right, I think, because of how the filtration process actually works: single drip-by-drip, which reminded me of water dripping off the end of a cave stalactite. It makes scientific sense to me that the ProPur filter must needs function in this way, so as to be enabled to remove the astonishingly complete array of today's tap water inimicalities that it does. That filter indeed does look to be throughly filtering water as do the tons of earth overlaying a subterranean cavern filters water to clarity so complete, it becomes invisible to cavers below. I think that this analogy holds perfectly.

Since my ProPur does take the time it needs to so throughly decontaminate my drinking and cooking water, I've made the logical decision to purchase a second ProPur pitcher system. By doing so, I will have a steady enough supply of the amazing water it supplies. My initial investment will thusly play out, over time, as very cost effective, because each ProPur filter lasts about 6 months. I did the arithmetic. And what I'll be paying for uncontaminated, healthful water is totally more than well worth it's cost. I can honestly say that I am generally feeling better lately. I suspect that drinking and cooking with pure, uncontaminated water for the very first time in my soon to be 67 years might just have something to do with that chilling fact.

In conclusion, I'll say that I think that this ProPur system is a brilliantly designed, wholly effective, and totally cost-justified investment in my own well-being. Human Beings who are caught out by suddenly challenging circumstances can survive days without food ... but not so without water. Water is the very basis of Life on our planet ... and the challenging situation regarding tap water contamination-- that so many of us face today-- is more wisely met than ignored. Thank You, ProPur. I do think that your excellent product will keep this new & faithful customer alive a few years longer.

light wieght . . . easy to handle . . . do not drop it may crack.

product performs as described. a slow drip to drip filtering but that ok. Just fill and store the night before. . . . refill empty bottles and stock up for future use. If you drink lot of water then buy 2. . . . I alternate with is filter and a safe water supply from Whole Foods. So i have plenty of filter on hand. I have a gallon of the filter water on hand at all times as soon as jug is full I fill water into smaller containers.Read full review...

Patience Required

If you're used to the water filter pitchers you buy at Walmart, then you'll need an extra patience when start using this one -- water gets filtered drip by drip slowly. So little more management required. My wife and I fill it up at night bfore going to bed then in the morning water is ready. It's worth the extra time as the water tastes great and it's healthier -- which we haven't 100% confirmed, going with what the manufacturer says.Read full review...

Needs improvement

I have an icemaker type under sink 3 year filter with a spigot atop the sink that filters everything except fluoride. I use this pitcher to filter out the fluoride from my already filtered water. It's large, but it does not hold a lot of water because half of the inside is taken up with the filtration compartment, which I can deal with. But the real problem is that both the lid and the filtration compartment are just sitting loose. They don't snap in. The other day I was pouring out some water and the whole filter compartment fell out knocking over the container I was pouring the water in and wet up the whole place. Water spilled from the container I was pouring it in, from the pitcher and from the filtration compartment because the lid fell off of that. It does its job, but it is poorly built. Plastic is brittle and cheap, so you have to take special care not to bump it while handling or washing it. The quality does not fit the price. It is way overpriced for its poor quality. The only reason I bought it is because the filter is cheaper than its competitors', but its competitors' pitchers are cheaper. Improvements need to be made with the fitment of the filtration compartment and the lid to ensure a snug fit. Read full review...

Love this filter

Before I had this filter I would only use arrowhead because of the fresh taste. Now, I throw tap water into this filter and it tastes great. No chlorine taste or smell, just absolutely fresh water. And it's saved me how much money? You just wash the filter off occasionally, and keep using it. I would suggest to buy the bigger one if you are like me though. I filter ALL of my water, except for what I clean with and because this thing removes so many contaminates from the water, it takes longer than most filters.Read full review...

Gets rid of fluoride and other poisons

best and most inexpensive way to eliminate all the horrible poisons awful governments put in our water - especially fluoride. Been using it for years and will drink no water unless it is filtered and this filter works great. I have a distiller and have checked how well this works -- and if you saw what it removes from your water -- you would never drink fluoridated water again!Read full review...

Love this pitcher

I purchased this pitcher because of rust in my water. Works great for cleaning the water. Love the construction of the pitcher. Easy to fill and easy to pour without mixing the 2 waters. It is slow dropping, but, makes sense for what it does. I just make sure to always have water filtering and the filtered water stored in another container. Someone wrote it is flimsy, not sure what they are talking about, they must be taking it and throwing it against the wall or floor. I find it to be well made. I have had it about a month and love it.Read full review...
