VSX-1015TX perfect price - perfect receiver

I've listened to and purchased a lot of sound equipment in my day and this is an exceptional receiver. You can pick one up for under $400 and you cannot beet the quality in that price range. All multichannel amps are driven by computers and their software which will become outdated quickly. DO NOT spend a fortune of any reciever. It will become outdated long before it wares out, and it will fetch very litte on the used market. That's why this amp is perfect. If you think that you need more power than this one has - you don't. Channel seperation is surpurb, and distortion is non existant. I have it hooked up to 7 JBL E-100s plus two 12 inch front firing subs. With 28 drivers to fire, any flaws would become evident, and there are none. If you need an Amp with HDMI switching capability, get the 1016, if component switching is acceptable than stick with the 1015. Pioneer VSX 1015TX 7.1 channel Receiver

This is a very nice unit. I run a pair of Polk Audio Studio Monitors and a pair of Advents off of this unit for Television, CD, VHS, DVD, DVD-R, Du al Cassette deck and a linear turntable and it does an excellent job.
Would like to see more HDMI connections; but, HDMI wasn't as prevalent as it is now. My entertainment room is small, about 14 x 18', so I seldom get to turn the volume up very high; but, at levels you can actually in enjoy, the sound is clear and bright and the bass is not muddy and thick.
All in all, an excellent unit for the money.
I do not feel that it compared with my Marantz or McIntosh equipment of years gone by; but, as I said, it's great now.Read full review...

Best Bang For The Buck!

This receiver got so much goodies for incredibly reasonable price. As you know it is the world first receiver to have THX-Select2. It also have the most accurate Automatic MCACC(actually measures and calibrates your audio system for sonic perfection specifically for your living room, regardless of shape or size, automatically.) Hometheater sound is clear and powerfull.

Pros: THX-Select2. Auto MCACC. LCD learning remote. stylish. Definitely, it's one of the best sounding receivers for the price! You're not gonna be disappointed.

Cons: This receiver is supposed to be rated 120 watts equall to all 7 channnels...but can't tell much difference between soundwise 120 watts vs 100 watts. Some receiver rated 100 watts plays just as loud if not louder. Stereo sound could have been better. This receiver sound is towards more for movie than music. GREAT AUDIO ASSET

This receiver gave me everything I was looking for and more. The sound is AWESOME. It works perfect with my Bose 701 series SPEAKERS.
