For the price I paid,I have enjoyed the quality of the movies greatly!!

I have enjoyed this system for almost 6 years now and have just recently had a problem with the tray assembly not opening when the "open" button was pushed I was able to find another "tray unit" on E-Bay, which works exactly as it is supposed to!! Ihave read many not so good reviews concerning this system, and I think that I have NOT encountered the listed problems due to how I set the system up: I used only the large tweeter, the base and only TWO of the smaller surround speakers and I have never turned the volumn control past the middle area of the sound level. This was not by plan, but by accident...I think most of the problems I have read about concerning this system come from overloading the power system and burning it out. After I received the tray box and found that it worked,being a handyman, I took the tray unit apart. I also took the tray assembly unit apart [where the cd/dvd disc sets].This was not easy,and you need to take pixs as you go, or draw pixs, but it is doable!!What happens is that over time, the bottom gears wear and do not mkae good gear-to-gear contact, which causes the tray not to open. I placed a stainless steel washer with good thin grease under the base of the offending gears, put everything back togerher again, and WOW! it works just fine,so I now have a backup unit for my surround system. good system but cannot use dvd on its own !

good system but cannot use dvd on its own ! it only has a proprietary rgb 15 pin audio out to subwoofer, so if you dont have the subwoofer, receiver is USELESS !!!

Do your research!

The subwoofer on my unit blew out after very little/light DVD use.(this unit can't be used with any others) After looking this problem up on the internet I found that the problem is quite common.
