This model is one of many panasonic made about 10 years ago. Most of the PV-L models use the same battery pack. Replacement batteries and cables are still available so even though the cameras are somewhat old, they still take great VHS recordings on small tapes which can be put into a larger playpack to be put into a full size VHS machine. I've had one for years which I love, and recently bought one for my son for $40 including shipping! Other family members wanted one too, so I began to shop for more. I have bought Five of this, each for less than $50 including shipping. Some models are fancier than others: higher quality zooms, remotes, and still picture capabilities. All came with chargers,cases, etc, and work great for such a little price! These camcorders were $300-$600 back in the day, so to be able to take great recordings at a great price makes them even more wonderful to have. Panasonic Palmcorder PV-L550

I just recently won a PV-L550... These video cameras are very easy to use. Great for beginners... The one I had won had 2 batteries, neither of the batteries held a charge... That is only because they were not properly taken care of.... Batteries should always be completely discharged, when recharging. but the charger itself is great because you can hook right to it and keep recording or playing it...
The camera fits nicely into the palm of the hand...Nice because you can easly take the small tapes and put them in a VHS PLAYPAK to play in the VCR right away... and if you decide to keep what you recorded, than later you can transfer the tape to a DVD on your recordable DVD player.

Works well

Video camera is easy to use and lightweight. Batteries are available.
Small screen and no remote function are the only shortcomings.

Great product for a fairly low price!

This camcorder is user friendly with multiple features for its compact size. The batteries charge fairly rapidly but only seem to have about a 3 hr. life. This may be due to the use of certain features which require more power. Less fuss, clear videos, great sound

I was looking for an affordable video camera. Did not need to be new. The older
ones are the best. Less fuss. Takes clear videos, nice sound, very easy to use.

This camera is great! Lightweight and easy to use. Great zoom and High Definition qualities. It is small enough to throw in a bag and bring anywhere.
