High Quality Compact Enthusiast Camera with a Fast Lens at a Great Price

The Pentax MX-1 was my camera of choice on a month-long bicycle trip along the entire length of the Pacific Coast Highway in the United States. It took the place of my Pentax K-5 DSLR. With its fast F1.8-2.5 lens, the MX-1 captured sharp images even in low light conditions.

In addition to its fast lens, a favorite feature of the MX-1 is its built in Shake Reduction (SR) system. SR reduces the effects of hand shaking to help you capture sharp pictures when hand held. The tilting 3" LCD display is also welcome. It allows for many camera positions, such as overhead in a crowd or on a mini-tripod on the ground.

The image quality (IQ) of the thousands of photos that I have taken with the MX-1 over several months impressed me. In fact, many of the photos have sold on stock photography websites.

The MX-1 has become a favorite compact enthusiast camera for me. It's not a tiny camera, but with its brass top and bottom and classic retro appearance, it garners positive comments and has a good feel in the hands. Great condition, came with the wrong cables

Camera itself is in great condition at a good price. The wrong cables were included, but the battery charger works. Battery seems nearly shot.

Solid design, quality pictures, excellent macro, good value

This is a wonderful camera capable of full manual. The two macro modes are fantastic, and the in camera HDR is very good. It feels very good in hand and the dials provide quick adjustment. The menu system is very simple to use. Very solid camera.Read full review...
