Easy to use

Great recorder. Works well with Mac platform. Records in .wma format, but it's easy to convert to mp3 files with online or downloaded conversion software. Recording quality is good. It's only 64MB of memory, so I have to remember to download files regularly, especially after long recording sessions. Battery life is exceptional, as well. I'm a reporter and use this to record meetings and interviews. I love that I can easily save the sound files for future reference.Read full review...

Great recorder, easy to use, speaker is only weak spot on a great recorder.

I had a friend who owned one of these recorders and when I saw one on Ebay I jumped to purchase it. I have had numerous digital recorders over the years but this is one of my favorites, it is simple, easy to use and even though the speaker sound is terrible it plays back on your computer great! I only wish Olympus had continued with this model and improved the speaker. This is a great recorder for the price, I would highly recommend this unit for purchase.Read full review...

Olympus WS-100

I now own 9 of these devices. I'm an old radio news reporter who now does newspaper. The quality of the audio is superb. And the pick-up is phenominal. If I was still doing radio, I could lift sound bites from anyone speaking in the same room and they would be good enough to use on-air.

The fact that it has a built in USB link to my PC makes storage simple and quick.

I change batteries (a single AAA) once a month in my fleet and they work well. I'm still acquiring these when one shows up on E-Bay in my price range. I use two (minimum) to record any meeting I'm covering.

Because more than one meeting can occur at the same time that needs my coverage, I've had as many as six deployed at meetings beyond the one I'm physically covering.

I've tried other digital recorders, including others by Olympus, and none compare with the WS-100.Read full review...

This device is very easy to use. The controls are simple although they are a little small. The device can go directly into a USB drive and does not require any additional software. Very nice digital recorder for the money. Easy to use and easy to download. This is a plug and play. USB connector build in with no need for messy cable hook-up.

Excellent product - worse the price - Exactly as described

Bought the product for voice recording of radio show - DJ introductions etc. Like the fact that it is easy to use and easy to transmit to radio station via email attachment. Can space and add CD's in between the specific introduction.
