LOVE IT!
I love this lens I brought it for making music videos on my GH4. The auto focus is so smooth and very faint with it's sound. Images are crisp from the photos great value.

Excellent value for the money. A great starter prime lens for sure!
I give five stars in all categories for this budget 17mm, f/2.8 Olympus lens. A true "pancake" lens, the 17/2.8 is often underrated by many micro 4/3 photographers and considered inferior to its cousin, the 17/1.8, but, in my opinion, it is an excellent value for such a low profile lens that makes your micro 4/3 system almost pocketable in pants pockets, but certainly in jacket pockets. This is, in fact, one of the main reasons I wanted to purchase the 17/2.8.
Allowing just a stop+ less light than the 17/1.8, this lens still allows you take get captures in very low light conditions and renders images with more than acceptable image quality. Note that I am not a pixel peeper and this is the lens is the one usually found on my OM-D E-M10 camera!
I have been very happy with this purchase. There is nothing about this lens that I don't like and would definitely buy this lens again.Read full review...
Awesome pancake lens!
This is a great lens at a great price. It's now my favorite lens because it's small and produces great images. It's on my camera all the time. Love it!!

Good lens but not useful as your only lens...
Good lens, somewhat sharper than the 14-42mm I own, but much too wide angle to be the only lens you would use on your Micro 4/3. I own the 17mm, the 14-42mm and the 40-150 lenses for my Olympus Pen E-PL1. I find that I don't often use the 17mm...with the 14-42 is actually wider and can be quickly zoomed up to 42mm.
Pros: Small, Sharp, great for landscapes...
Cons: Pricey, not useful as your only lensRead full review...
Olympus 17mm f2.8
Wow, I can't believe how small this lens is. It can fit in my jacket pocket and be easily forgotten. Arrived in mint condition.

Tasty Pancake
Great quality, tiny size, perfect general purpose lens, fast autofocus, very sharp.
A must have staple for your Olympus OM-D E-M5
I realized that I was stepping back more often than I liked. So it was time to buy the 17mm lens for my Olympus OM-D E-M5.
I take a lot of inside apartment pictures and the 14-42mm didn't give me a wide view, even when using the wide-angle setting....so this lens fits the bill.
I also like the smaller profile when I am carrying it.
For beginners, try shooting with this lens at a high resolution, then play with cropping to find the subject sweet spot.Read full review...
Small and handy, but
While sharp enough in the center it is quite soft in the corners. If that isn't an issue for you then go for it!
