Towards the top of the range for "basic" phones

If you want an excellent "basic" phone (i.e. don't need a camera or slide-up/flip up cover or MP3 player, etc) then you can't go wrong with a Nokia 6030.

I was quite lucky and got mine for a low bid (under £20, nearly-new), but I would gladly have paid £30 for it (maybe worth over £40 for brand new).

The battery life is phenomenal (for someone like me who only makes/receives 5-10 minutes of calls each day, it can easily go up to 2 weeks before needing recharging). And then it's pretty much fully recharged again after only an hour or so of being plugged into the socket.

Like most Nokias, it has a nice big, crisp & clear screen (good for texting and surfing), has a good internal antenna (so giving better signal strength than alot of other phones), is very reliable and is very easy to use (user-friendly menus, 4-way arrow key, etc).

The FM radio gives pretty good reception, and the sound quality is reasonable.

It's also reasonably small and light, and not bad looking for a "basic" type. (I have the jet black version, which looks fairly stylish.)

It's not as "sexy" as the most expensive super-slim flip/slide phones, so it won't be right for those who are only interested in looks. But if quality, reliability and practical considerations are what matter to you, then you should be happy with this phone.Read full review...

NOKIA 6030

I brought this phone has a spare but i'm very impressed with it

The signal is great its also a nice design you know the phone you don't mind pulling out in front of people lol

Also the battery life is good...the menu is a typical nokia one they seem to get right all the time...some menu on some phones are so crappy its unbeliverble but not with this nokia phone

This phone is only a basic phone so there is no camera, video, mp3 player just talk and text oh there is wap and mms

Nokia 6030 review

I strongly belive NOKIA makes the best mobile phones. I had to buy one as mine 7210 end up its life after long years service and I was ripped of by Ms. Yip Yuen Ki (mobile.amoeba)on £85 with a fake not working NOKIA. I can not imagine having different type of mobile.

Nokia 6030

Considering its purpose, this phone fits the bill. I only paid around £10 for it, including postage. It doesn't have a camera or internet or any of those thrills you get with most modern phones, but it does the basic functions - texting and calling, which is all I plan to use it for (cheap rates on a sim only type deal...)
If you're looking for a phone to impress your mates, this isn't it, unless, like me, you love the old school dinosaur type technology. But if you just want a cheap phone for texting and calling, I have no problem with this phone...Read full review...

Simple but effective mobile

For those of you who just want a phone with text and picture messaging, the 6030 is simple and easy to use. It also gets a signal where other phones don't.

cool nokia 6030

This phone isn't over technical and take ages to learn how to use, but it doesn't have all the gadgets the phones do nowadays. Thats what I like easy use.

firstly i would like to say that it was at a very low price which made me buy it. i know i have not been using eBay for a long time but i love very min of it. its not me who i the item is for so i can not say if i like it or not. what i didnt like was that there was many pictures to show the item which would make for a better usability. i enjoy it very much.Read full review...
