It does everything I would expect out of a camera like this. The price is terrific.
It does everything I want in quite the versatile a camera. It has sharp long-range zoom. It shoots 4k video. It shoots crisp hiogh-resolution images. It has convenient controls for shooting in various manual modes. I am impressed that a battery as small as this one can do so much. As always, take care that you use a quality high-capacity high-speed SD card. A carrying strap is a terrific idea if you're not used to hefting a camera of this size and weight. It may have a moment of confusion when auto-focusing the zoom, but this issue may come from attempting to shoot through glass. I may possibly find quirks or bugs later on as I get to learn the camera and shoot much more in manual mode. For shooting automatically, it's quite the versatile camera: two ways to go wide-angle or telephoto, automatic mode is a quality function for someone who just wants to turn it on, aim, zoom, and shoot. This will shoot far higher quality than you'd ever use on the internet.Read full review...

Easy to Use and Great Images
I bought this camera for my friend who is not good with complicated gadgets. He is enjoying using the camera and learning about the features. We both got very tired of the promise that you could take great pictures on your phone. My friend is a birder and already has captured some great images and is planning a trip to capture more than what we can see out the living room window (although in my area, that's a lot of great birds!)Read full review...

Very pleased
I was using a B700 for birding over 6 years and liked it a lot. But the P950 with 83x zoom is a great improvement over the 60x zoom of the B700. The P950 is necessarily bulky but the features outweigh the slight inconvenience of the larger size.
The attached photo was taken at 135 yards distance.Read full review...

Great camera -- but pre-opened, with settings already selected by a previous user
I've been using a Nikon P900 for several years, and have read good things about the P950. It does seem as if the viewfinder is sharper and the zoom is faster. I still have a few things to learn, but I'm getting there.
I expected my camera to be brand new, and it wasn't quite. There was no warranty card in the box, and the time and date had already been set to a different time zone than mine. If the camera were new, it would prompt me to set those values, but it didn't. I've been a bit wary, waiting to see if everything functions as it should. So far, so good ... but I am disappointed that it wasn't brand new as advertised.Read full review...

Versatile camera with incredible built in zoom lens
Great for situations when you want a decent picture but don't want to lug a bunch of equipment or spend a lot of time setting up the perfect shot. The built in zoom lens is excellent and easy to use for nature photography. I have a more sophisticated Nikon DSLR, but the P950 is my go-to camera for outdoor photography -- e.g., birdwatching and wildlife photography. It does have manual settings for those who want more control over the image, but the auto setting does a fine a job for my purposes.Read full review...

Just got this, but what a camera. Will take awhile to get to know it and its features. Looking forward to more great shots.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Great camera! It takes amazing photos of still wildlife and the moon! It's a little slow for moving wildlife, but it is fantastic as a little crossover between a point-and-shoot and a DSRL. It's also perfect for long hikes because of how light weight it is!Read full review...

Offers new possibilites for Image Capture Art
Used for birding and wildlife. It takes time to learn this instrument. It has many settings. Not all the settings seem useful. Takes excellent images with proper lighting and close in distance. Has remarkable focus ability thru small spaces between branches. This opens new possibility for image art.The long focus is best for identification. Picture quality is less than close up. Best image quality at or under 1500. Can overwhelm with number of good images. Need image evaluation process to find the best of the good images. It has taken some of the best digital images we have captured with a digital camera. Images are used in computer screen slide shows. Shudder speeds fast enough to capture animal behaviors, in flight, mating behavior, courting behavior, fast motions etc. This ability has taken us into new possibilities of image capture art. Movie works well in low light. Read full review...

Fun camera to use!
A few years ago I had the predecessor of this camera. It's been described as "a lens bolted onto a camera body." This camera is certainly all about the lens. There's nothing special about the camera itself except that it does what it's made to do.
I used the previous version to make photos of the Moon. I've been trying this one for general photography. I'm pleased with an image I made of downtown Cincinnati last week at night.Read full review...
