This router was bought refurbished but you couldn't tell the difference, I received it in a brown box like some refurbished products do, in my opinion it was easy to set up and has been running flawlessly since it also can simultaneously be a media server too and has quick connect when adding new computers on to thhe wireless network, it has tis cool blue wireless connectivity indicator that I've heard several people say they don't like but I. Good Product, Disappointing Range

Great Speed but only decent Range. I expected more range out of this modem-router, specially when it's named 'Rangemax'; it's less than 25metres/82 feet across several walls.

Perhaps I'm being too demanding? In any case, I had a little more range with my previous Linksys Wag160n, but I've got to admit this Netgear product is much better quality and more reliable.

Easy to install manually, great technical support,(free phone support instead of endless chats with indian Linksys 'technicians') however, Installation CD was useless.Read full review...

Great for places where signal strength is an issue

I was having connnectivity (signal strength) problems with my wifi g router so planned to upgrade to wireless n. On searching, found the wireless n dual band supported by this router and thought of going for it. Also bought another wifi n dual band usb adapter for the laptop.
Individually, either of them increases the range to a great extent and all my connectivity issues are gone.
When used together, I havent yet been able to find how far do I need to go to loose the signal.

Very easy to use and set up!

This modem/router combo is possibly the best that there is. there is such a large level of security on it while still having a very easy to use interface and set up.

the modem/router has N300 which makes my laptops wireless internet very responsive and speed for loading/uploading. The modem has the capability of running at 5gHz which is great for avoiding all interferences and keeping the signal strong. It also has the ability to broadcast (simultaneously) at the standard 2.4gHz with b/g which allows others to utilize the routers functions while not requiring an N card or requiring the N card users to use b/g.

Another great thing about this modem/router is that it is near impossible to "brick". I was installing a firmware update and the cord came unplugged half way through which threw my modem into a phase that had absolutely no firmware and was not even the slightest functional yet i was able to simply download the firmware from online (using another modem) and install it right into the modem using its built in interface.

I highly recommend this modem/router to anyone who is looking for nothing but the absolute highest quality, with the best data transfer rates, the best security measures and internal firewalls, and best of all ease of use.

dependable router for all DSL users

great, dependable router for DSL users. Has many features built into the web-based firmware interface which makes it very easy to manipulate and modify settings. From the outside it looks very nice with the dancing blue lights at the top. I've connected just about every device to it, iPods, laptops, macs, etc. and they all connect flawlessly. faster than a separate modem router combo as well. recommend to any and all DSL users.

NOTE: for verizon/Frontier DSL users, set VCI/VPI settings to 0 and 35 accordingly, else you will fail to receive DSL service to the router.Read full review...

Great product with terrible setup software

I can't believe that an item that has been in the marketplace over a year does not include a setup disk that works with a 64-bit operating system (running Vista Ultimate). Netgear support was very good, and at the end of the day it is a great router, but really, something at this level of user sophistication should really be supplied with the software needed to set it up in both 32-bit and 64-bit OS.Read full review...

DSL modem with wireless router

We had a modem from the phone company and it was barely faster than dial up. We are a multiple computer home and this one has worked great. It was easy to install and get up and running, the support staff were very helpful with any questions. Our speed has more than doubled and the same speed is on all computers. The large blue light is distracting but we just cover it up with paper. The unit itself is very attractive and we would and have recommended it to others.Read full review...

Time to step up to the N generation...

I like this unit, It's fast and easy to set up. Set up took less then five min. I do recommend this Netgearmax DGND3300 wireless.The router just about set it self up.had my Mini Mac running like new in 5 minutes.I was losing my connection due to a 6 yr old westell modem but could not convince verizon it was bad..Now both of my computers are running faster then ever.Let's hope it's as dependable as the westell....Read full review...

Great functioning device!!! Great Deal!!!

I initially bought this product because I was planning on switching to DSL. However, after I purchased this Gateway I realized DSL was not offered in my area so I was not able to see it function in it's entirety. I was able to test the wi-fi which functioned quite well and I was able to enable security features so as to create a personal network.
