Low cost fast hardware modem upgrade for intractably slow copper cable modem ISP technology.
Upgrade on an Xfinity/Comcast Motorola Surfboard from over a decade ago, has seemed to function without issue since day 1! Next planned purchase: a WiFi router upgrade that has LACP-IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation to take advantage of the secondary gigE port.
I really appreciate that it even offers that, even though I prefer being in areas which have FTTH and 10gigE or better (SGI was doing such things in the 1990s after all, and Mellanox has 200Gbps adapters, whilst even Intel is playing catch up with 100Gbps ethernet now and NICs don't cost much more than these ancient slow DOCSIS cable modems reliant on intrinsically slower than fiber and optical light based interconnects, copper wiring.)
Albeit, in SOHO consumer gear, that means another $300 or $400 in equipment just to theoretically get to 2Gbps, which I am more or less certain Comcast doesn't guarantee or charges through the nose for, meanwhile well over a decade ago I was paying less in gear per gigabit ethernet port with fiber trunking from better ISPs, but when in hell, at least make it run faster!
So, this is a definitive upgrade from the older modem. The power switch, is also, wonderful, because in my experience, it is necessary to power cycle the customer premises equipment with this ISP quite often, and having to go through the hassle of unplugging the previous modem, just to power cycle it, was even more of a chore.
Good upgrade! Better upgrade would be moving to an area which has fiber to the home based ISPs e.g. municipal fiber for $500/mo/10Gbps in Atherton or $50/mo/1Gbps, and even cheaper offerings from Sonic and Cruzio in Santa Cruz and places such as Petaluma, but I do not currently reside in such regions as the real estate costs are also high.Read full review...

I would definately recommend.
Excellent product. Well manufactured and performs spectacularly. Unlike my Arris SB6141, it runs cool while delivering great speeds.
One thing; the auto activation does not work unless you register the device with Comcast FIRST. Can't comment on other carriers.Read full review...

Refurbished works as well as new, why spend more?
Factory refrub is as good of maybe better than "new". Modem looks new, no scratches, etc. and performs perfectly. Price much, very much, better than new. It came in factory packaging, with power adapter and connecting cable. Cable installer got it running with their system without any issues. Speed great and it isn't big. I paired it with my Linksys router and put both into the cabinet where the TV sits. Netgear makes great equipment.Read full review...

Very nice condition works well.
This is a very good modem for what I wanted, just double check to make sure you plug it into the right slots on the cord. To answer any questions it is not a router, the second slot is for the newer ethernet ports for the new doc sys. It works better than my old 600 series modem so far. Thanks again.Read full review...

Awesome Modem
As always Netgear has done it again for us, we love Netgear modems and routers, their interface and their options are just what we need, I had no trouble activating this Nighthawk CM1100 with spectrum at all, called, gave my mac address and a few seconds later I was surfing with no issues whatsoever, better speed than my Nighthawk C7000, just letting anyone with spectrum know that they activate it with no issues like other people claim, idk if they have recently added it to their compatible DB or what happened but I had no issues activating, it was actually too easy and no problem for the representative to do it, don't even have to mention what the model is, just call and say you have to activate a replacement or a new customer owned modem and say I have the Mac address ready for you, let them type it in, send you the signal and reboot modem, and you're onlineRead full review...

Nice Cable Modem Upgrade Netgear CM1100-100NAS* Cable Modem....
The Netgear CM1100-100NAS* works fine on my home network through my ISP, because it is on the
list of cable modems approved for use by my ISP for it's network. I began having issues with the one
I rented monthly for my Spectrum and I wanted an upgrade to replace it, so I decided that it was time
to buy my own and avoid the rental fees !Read full review...

You can never go wrong with any Netgear Nighthawk products
I have an old house built with very thick walls. It takes a lot to penetrate through them. I now have purchased the Netgear Nighthawk modem, router, and extender and all together I have finally found success.Read full review...

DOCSIS modem
Modem appears to working well. Be sure to read and follow the seup instructions. It is not plug and play.
Increase in speed and connection
If you have Xfinity, this is a great modem to replace the monthly fee for renting one from Xfinity. Easy to setup. Xfinity walks you through it very nicely and the instructions that come with the modem are very thorough with resources for the various cable companies you may be using the modem with at your home. This modem sends great speeds to your router. This modem so far has provided a more consistent connection and faster speeds than older Netgear modems. Good idea to use Cat7, if possible, to connect to good WiFi router/mesh system. Give yourself the best possibility for speed and connection, and get a Netgear CM1100.Read full review...
